Is my pregnancy test showing a faint positive or an evaporation line?

I am 7 days late on my period which is usually very regular (around 26-8 days). I took a test on Saturday 20th July which I looked at within the allotted time and it looked like a faint line (Morrisons own pregnancy test).

I went out and bought 2 clear blue tests to make sure and I did one again on Saturday which initially showed up negative. I kept it as I didn’t want it seen in the bin at this time and when I looked again after the allotted time (which I know you’re not meant to do) it had a line. I did the same again on Sunday and it showed negative but then again a line showed up. I know that this could easily be an evaporation line but the first test I did had a faint line within the allotted time so it left me very confused.

I don’t have much experience with this so do these look like evaporation lines to you? The first image is the test I took first which I can see a very faint line and this appeared within the window to look, but the other two definitely didn’t and only showed this after.

i haven’t been able to buy another pregnancy test since but will today or tomorrow, still no sign of my period and I am very confused.

How likely is it to still be testing negative 7 days late if I am actually pregnant?

Any help appreciated, thanks.

Hi. Do you track ovulation? Are you trying for a baby?
Is it possible you ovulated late?
so perhaps it's very early as it'd be unlikely to show faint positives on two different tests if you're not pregnant I would think.
No expert but have lots of TTC experience 😊

Is the Morrison brand more sensitive than the clear blue? I would test again on an early/sensitive test and see what comes up

Hi, I had just started tracking ovulation this month as I am trying to NOT get pregnant (the irony) but I wasn’t ovulating on the days that I tested. It’s left me very confused but I will get another test today and tomorrow and see. Just wasn’t sure if these looked like evaporation lines or not!

Thank you, I will try another test. They were all meant to be early testing ones including the Morrisons one so I’m not sure what’s happening!

If you’re 7 days late I would say it’s unlikely to be a pregnancy with a very faint line - normally you’d have a quite a strong line, unless you ovulated later than normal. I would say the clear blue are definitely evap, but I can’t make out on the first pic as the quality isn’t the greatest (the upload takes away so much quality for some reason!) and there’s a bit of shadow. Wait 48 hours and test again, with a pink dye (not a clear blue), or any digital. If negative again it will just be a late period. Even if you’re super regular sometimes our bodies just have a few off moments (been a victim of that myself). Wishing you the best x

Hi what was the outcome? Going through the same with both morrisojs and CB tests!
