IVF thin lining guidance & reasurance

Hi,

I'm on my first IVF cycle and currently preparing for FET with my clinic. I am currently on 3x per day proganova oestrogen oral tablets and had my first 12-day scan which can with bad news my lining has only reached 4.9mm.

They have instructed me to introduce 2 additional proganova tablets vaginally until Friday (5 days) to hopefully increase the lining. However, naturally, I have a thin lining and on stims, it only reached 6.6/7mm

Has anyone else been experiencing the same and what was your outcome? I'm looking for some reassurance as I'm currently in meltdown mode about it and feel very deflated as we've waited so long to get to this point. I would hate the cycle to be cancelled because of a thin lining. But I still have hope it could increase.

Has anyone had a similar journey and did you see an increase from day 12 - day 17 after adding in more vaginal oestrogen?

A little bit of background, I have PCOS, however very mild. I'm also doing acupuncture, a very healthy diet, beetroot juice, pomegranates, pineapple etc

Any reassurance, guidance would be much appreciated as I feel very deflated with the news today.

I had this and the only thing that helped was adding skin patches. Lining was still under 7mm but had a successful pregnancy.

This is really reassuring! When did you introduce the skin patches? I would have asked about this on my appointment today if I knew but I'll mention it on Friday's appointment if it's still super thin. Were you also taking progonova alongside the patches?

@ThisPlumMember yes I was taking progynova as well as patches. I had two FETs (first one was a chemical and second resulted in successful pregnancy). I can't remember which day they added the patches in the first time but it was definitely quite late on. The second time I insisted I needed the patches as well as the tablets from the start of the cycle.

The clinic wouldn't transfer below 6mm. I know it is disheartening to have delays but if your lining isn't thick enough then it is for the best to start again. The other thing I would insist on is having your progesterone levels tested the day before transfer. Some clinics do and some don't. Again, I needed injections as well as pessaries for that. Some people just don't absorb the pessaries well.

Good luck!

How did the scan go? I have a reoccurring thin uterus lining, had all the tests done under the sun and nothing is wrong. Think I am on maybe 6 or 7 abandoned FETs due to it.

I am about to start my 4th FET, dreading how many attempts it may take. I tend to only ever get to 6mm.
