Easy at home reliability? Evap/faulty test?

Hi everyone,

Anyone know how reliable the easy at home pregnancy tests are? I did a boots early detection test when I was 9 days PO and it was stark white. Just done an easy at home test and got a faint line. I'm 11 days PO today and AF due in 3 days. I've been getting such bad pains today and stomach cramps like AF is coming. Don't even know why I tested. Desperately don't want to get my hopes up as no idea whether these tests are reliable, especially early. We've really been struggling to conceive. Plus the line seems to fade towards the bottom, any thoughts? Pictures taken within timescale of reading test

I'm current 14 weeks pregnant and my easy @ home tests looked just like this before my period was due. I actually had some a lot lighter than this too (started testing ridiculously early), but I'd say yours looks like a positive x

hopefullyTTC2x · 13/07/2024 17:11

I also tested my LH levels, does it mean anything if this is still high?

From what I understand a false positive is highly unlikely.

No experience of these tests, but there’s clearly a line there. 9dpo is very early for a positive result, and 11dpo is more likely. So it all looks feasible.

It’s so difficult but I think all you can do is wait and test again in a few days. I know how impatient I am, so if I were you I would probably test again now with the Boots early detection that you had a negative with, just to compare?

Thank you for your reply. Maybe I'll try again tomorrow with FMU. I don't want to drive myself mad with it so I'll assume it's unknown for now and try again. My husband is back and I don't want to add any stress (he worries when I start testing that I will be ok).

The line doesn't look solid to me and fades towards the bottom, I've not seen this before so made me think it might not be right

Thank you so much for replying and congratulations. 🥳 I was worried about the fading towards the bottom, did you have this at all?

I always use easy @ home and always been accurate. Definitely a positive, congratulations! Here's my progression from last week, first is 10dpo.

Also lh tests can't tell the difference between lh and HCG so it would come up positive if pregnant. I tested the theory as I had seen people say this and wanted to check. 😂

Thanks so much for sharing, your 11DPO looks similar to mine and not solid. Congratulations on your positive 🥳

Yes I had a few that weren't quite solid the whole way down, and then some that were. For only 9dpo I think it's a really good line! ☺️

Thank you, I'm 11DPO today - had the negative result when I was 9DPO so I'll just try again tomorrow and try not to get my hopes up just in case. I have a batch of the easy at home ones so can check over a few days. Think it will take a digital to believe it but will wait until after AF was due. Thanks so much. Here's quietly hoping 🤞🏼

The digitals are not very sensitive, so don’t test too early with one if it’s likely to worry you. I had to stay away from digitals for that reason.

Boltonb · 13/07/2024 18:48

And fingers crossed this is your time! I think the line looks good, personally. Good luck

Yes thank you, I agree with the digitals being worrying. With my first I only tested positive the day before AF was due and a couple of days later got an accurate reading on clear blue so I'll maybe wait for a solid line on these first. Hopefully it wasn't a dodgy test

You’re pregnant. Congratulations.

Congratulations! These tests were always accurate for me x

hopefullyTTC2x · 13/07/2024 19:43

Thank you both so much for commenting, it's reassuring that this might be right! I really hope so 🤞🏼

Also just found out this image to give you some reassurance about the line fading a bit towards the bottom. This test was when I was about 5 weeks already but I remember panicking as the line didn’t look solid all the way through, I think these tests just sometimes do that. Also your cramps are a good sign, period like cramps were my first symptom and lasted for the first 16 weeks or so. Wishing you a happy and health pregnancy xx

Thank you so much, that's so kind of you. I did a second test and another line just fainter but it's later in the day and I've been drinking a lot. Honestly don't remember having pain this bad with my first, my back at the top is terrible (trying not to over think and worry about possibility of ectopic, this is what my mind does). Can't quite believe it 🥲 now just to hope for a sticky baby 🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼 I forgot you do that, worry about getting pregnant then worrying the whole way through it won't last.

Congratulations! My easy at home test looked like that at 10dpo. I was convinced it must be an evap. The outcome of that tiny pink line is currently asleep on my chest!

hows it looking this morning OP?

hopefullyTTC2x · 14/07/2024 12:00

A little bit darker today I think but still not a solid line. I've been getting the twinges in my stomach though that feel like a pulled muscle and dizziness so it's starting to feel more real. Still just praying for it to be sticky 🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼 going to have to tell husband soon because this feels unfair not sharing I just wanted the line to be a little stronger first. Hopefully in the next day or so then I can do a digital how many weeks and that will be reassuring. Thanks for asking xx

Top 2 were yesterday, bottom today. Not much progress and might see more on an early detection test I'm just scared to in all honesty, worried it won't be real

I got my how many weeks result on a clear blue 🥰 lines still very faint on the non digital ones but trying not to worry (these 2 are the superdrug early detection ones). Did these last night and told the husband. He cried he was so happy 🥲 thanks for all your input xx
