Hi everyone - having a panic as period is late. Quickly grabbed some strips from Poundland having only ever used the plastic kind of test im not sure I’m reading it right, is this positive, negative or invalid?! This is not helping my anxiety!! Thank you in advance 😬

Looks invalid try another one

Tisfortired · 13/07/2024 10:44

Thank you for replying @Kellyaust I will do another when I get home. This is a clear blue from last night, but I glanced at it, it was neg, then went to deal with DS and forgot about it. Thought it was probably an evap so got the strips today to double check.

Yeah I steer clear of clear blue unless it's the digital one coz they're horrendous for evaps. I always use cheapies they've never let me down

Whats evap? And in my experience clear blue is the best even the old ones

Did you dip that test in your wee or wee on it? The test appears invalid, and those clear blues are notorious for evaps. Hope you get your answer soon xxxx

Tisfortired · 13/07/2024 10:51

I am not sure of the science behind it @aya123 but basically a line that appears outside of the testing window which isn’t a true positive.

@aya123 an evaporation line. These clearblue tests (and really any blue dye tests) are absolutely notorious for false positives/evaporation lines

Hi @Joleyjojo I didn’t dip as I just dashed into shopping centre toilets! Will do it properly when I get home. I am not sure of the answer I want to be honest. DC are 10 and 1.5, I always wanted 3 but it took 5 years of trying and 3 MCs to get DS2 so we decided we were done when we were eventually blessed with him, I’m not sure I can go through it again.

I only asked as it looked like it may have flooded. I have done the supermarket toilet dash many times as I just couldn’t wait. Maybe when you see 2 lines or you don’t you will know exactly how you are feeling. If not that’s ok too. Sending love x

Okay so I got home and did it by dipping and I’m none the wiser. At first it just looked negative but when I peeled the film back a little (where the max line is) it looks like there is a line. Or if there is no line in the window is it negative??

@aya123 I know, I’m sounding mental. I just didn’t want to spend £10+ on a digi and was hoping these £1 ones would give me the answer! There is one left in the pack which I will do with FMU tomorrow and if it’s still vague I’ll get a digi I think.

That's negative OP, where you peeled back the max line is just where the dye has settled - the line would be much closer to the control line x

Tisfortired · 13/07/2024 12:18

Thank you @minnieot .

Yeah I'd say that's negative too

Joleyjojo · 13/07/2024 13:57

That’s negative your not meant to peel that back . Hope it’s the result your happy with xxx
