Ovulation pains

For the past few hours I've been getting this feeling like a build up of pressure really low down and my stomach is quite hard to touch in that area (so bloating I guess). Almost feels like trapped wind but isn't. It hurts more when I walk or when I sit down. Oh my, the pain when I sit down!!! Then a stitch type pain on one side that keeps coming and going.
I had my LH peak last night but I've never had it this painful before with ovulation. Is this normal? Feels quite extreme for ovulation pains?

Can be yes. Could be a cyst. If it doesn't resolve by your period I'd see the dr

Thanks I'll see how I get on tonight/tomorrow

From what I understand, ovulation pains are similar in nature to period pains - if you get them, you get them every time (or most). It's not a one-off.

@Chypre ah ok. I've been on the pill for most of my life. Stopped it 3 months ago so maybe I just have nothing to compare to and this is what ovulation can feel like for me

@Chypre for me the sensation is more like twinges than actual cramps, and clearly focused on one side rather than central + lower back ache.

@ploo Bloating can happen around ovulation but it's also possible your pain is gastric/ digestion related and the timing a coincidence.

My ovulation pain is exactly like yours OP - it feels like something needs to burst or pop and then it would feel better! Always get it on right side and usually for about a day.
