Hi am very new to mums net. I stumbled upon this in February when I found out I was have a miscarriage. Since then, me and my partner have been trying to conceive again. However every month we have been left completely heart broken. I am quite young (f20) so am not sure of what I need to do to improve my fertility. My periods are very regular every 28 days for 3-4 days. I am begging to wonder if I am not ovulating. Can anybody help?

Hi, I'd say first thing ask your doctor for a full blood test just to check all is well! And get some ovulation tests from Amazon X

overtherainbow03 · 06/07/2024 13:46

Thank you, I did have a blood test during the miscarriage however is there a specific one I should ask for?

After my mc and surgery I had very light periods so I was worried I wasn’t ovulating.

I bought easy at home lh tests and a bbt (thermometer to 2 dp) from Amazon. I also used the Premom app and fertility friend to input the tests/bbt data into it.

You might find that you ovulate earlier or later than you think you do, I assumed I ovulated on cd14 because that’s what the internet says is typical but it wasn’t until I tracked that I found out I ovulated around cd19 instead and my cycle is ~32 days.

I conceived my son this way, by timing dtd to make sure we were in the fertile window.

Hi I was the same, since a MC in February hadn't seen a positive test since. But yesterday i got my first faint positive so hoping this is our rainbow baby. Definitely track if you don't already. My periods after MC were really light and I'm not sure if I was ovulating or not but periods were regular just different. This cycle I didn't ovulate when I was meant to on CD20 and instead it was cd31! Weirdly this is the one I've got the positive test.
Was it a natural MC or did you have intervention? I think it really messes or bodies up. I had hoped I'd be one of those that fell pregnant before a period but it didn't happen and I was worried too. I would speak with your GP if worrier and they'll check your hormones but because of your age they may ask you to wait longer. You could also book them privately, I looked at hertility but didn't end up doing it.

Hi, im so sorry you went through that too. I really hope it is your rainbow baby. I have been tracking everything I can. Ive purchased some ovulation strips but I am unsure when I should be testing. My periods after the miscarriage were exactly the same it was a natural miscarriage. I had a follow up scan 3 months after to make sure everything had returned to normal as they found to cysts during the first ultra sound that have since returned to normal so I know the cysts could have been an issue. We had been trying for 6 months before we found out we were pregnant in the January. I think if we get to January next year and still haven't had any look I will look at going private. Age really has an impact however my mother and grandmother (her mother) both have a history of endometriosis so I am concerned.

Hi, thank you. I have recently the done the same. I have purchased the easy @ home ovulation strips and have the app. When testing for your ovulation is there a best time to do so?

@overtherainbow03 if you've never tested before then starting around day 8 or 9 can be useful to get to know your cycle. Once you've tested for a few months, if your ovulation is regular, then you can test from like 3-4 days before ovulation is due 🙂

Like moosey said, day 8 or 9 is a good idea if you have no idea. I tested once a day until they started getting a bit darker and noticed other signs like ewcm and went with that. I also used preseed this cycle for the first time. What tests did you get? I used easy at home and downloaded the premium all so you can upload the pics and it gives you an idea of how close to peak they are. Remember a positive test on ovulation sticks is different to pregnancy tests as you always have lh in your system so you're looking for the test line to be as dark or darker than the control line for it to be positive.

jellyfish2 · 06/07/2024 14:39

This is mine this month. Mine kept looking like they were going to get darker then didn't until cd30 when I got my peak so most likely ovulated cd31. I've no idea why it was so late, it's completely unusual for me.

I used the easy @hone tests starting around CD 10, and regularly had sex once the tests started to get darker. It took us about 5 months to conceive after a MC, it’s very normal for your body to take time to recover. If it gets to a year since the MC I’d speak to the GP but it’s very likely to happen again.

Thank you, I have recently purchased them. My last period was the 26-29 of June. So I'm on cycle day 12 and still haven't had a positive LH test yet. On my app my predicted window is supposed to be from the 7th to 13th of just however I have a feeling that I do not ovulate till a little bit later on. I will keep testing and see if I can get a positive and hopefully then I'll have a better idea of when my fertile window is.

I have a feeling that mine is similar to this and that I do not ovulate till a lot later. I'm currently on cycle day 12 and have not had a positive lh, the app says it 0.18 low at the moment
