Gender swaying

Disclaimer: I don't genuinely think any method of gender swaying actually makes enough of a difference to really matter, if any at all. This is half for fun, half because why not? I need something to help keep my brain occupied.

I have 2 absolutely wonderful little boys and we're about to start trying for baby #3, which will most likely be our last. I wouldn't be upset at all to have a third boy but I'd also love the chance to have a girl and so would my partner. He's mentioned that he thinks it would be fun to "try" (neither of us actually having any expectations or pressure of it necessarily working) to sway for a girl. So what are the wildest or most interesting methods you've heard of to try to conceive one gender or the other? Has anyone tried before (and what did you end up with)?

I'm currently pregnant with no.2 and although I don't know the sex of this one, my prediction is another boy! Which will be amazing if that's the case!! 😁 also planning a third in the future and think we might "try" for a girl if we have 2 boys already. But again, totally happy for any outcome!! 3 boys would also be amazing 😍 and we just want 3 children, regardless of sex!!

But, for fun, we might "try" for a girl by having sex in the few days leading up to ovulation. have conceived both pregnancies so far by having sex on day of ovulation. So this is the method we might try 😂 but in saying that, I have a feeling I will still have sex on day of ovulation as well, as the main goal is just to get pregnant and I wouldn't want/be able to hold off trying everything possible to get pregnant 😅

So, overall, we might "try" to sway it one way or another, but realistically, probably not really make a difference 😂

Isn't there something with vinegar? I'm crossing my legs just typing that.

Honestly, I'd put the effort into health and try to come to terms with the possibility of either.

I have 2 friends with multiple boys before their girl who swear by the Shettles method.

@auspreg We're in the same boat. I'd be perfectly happy either way, but might as well try and see what happens. I don't expect it to make a real difference but it's fun to look into all the methods people use

@LiterallyOnFire Anything involving vinegar sounds awful! Some of the methods people come up with are definitely questionable. Health is obviously the priority, and like I said I'd be happy either way. I adore my boys and I know a third boy would be just as amazing as they are. But it's an interesting concept to me

@LemonDropsXx I've heard about it but never known anyone who's tried it. Interesting to know it seems to have worked for them

Yes I’ve got 2 girls and the 3rd is a boy- my ex started changing up his lifestyle while trying to give his sperm a boost, exercising, plenty water, no alcohol etc - whether it worked or not we have the opposite sex now- might be worth a go

Have a look at luisa zizzman she has a blog post about conceiving girls

I heard that if you dtd at the beginning of your fertile window, it’s likely going to be a girl as theyre the ones surviving the most in the uterus while waiting for the egg to be released!

if I get my +++ this cycle, it will likely be a girl then 😂 as my partner and I only DTD 3 and 4 days before ovulation this cycle (as he had to go to the states for a business trip)

There's no way to gender sway. It's a myth.

50% success rate is a great starting point, so try if you want.

@pineapple03 Fingers crossed you get your BFP! Whether you end up with a boy or girl lol

@Outliers Like I said at the beginning, I don't really believe any of it. It's all just for fun

💯 agree with this and it worked for me for a girl. First baby was a boy, it was a case of “am I fertile” and “let’s go for it” no thought given to timing.

I did quite a bit of research for DD and followed this method.

Hence "try it if you want'
