Struggling to conceive 2024

Jee95 · 04/07/2024 08:36

Hello! I wanted to create a thread for those who are struggling to conceive. It would be great to talk to those who are in the same boat.

I am 28 and trying for my first. We have been trying for 16 months now. I have used too many different methods and taken a break from checking BBT. I believe I had a chemical pregnancy last year - a positive then changed to negative. And last month I believe I miscarried - my period was late and when it did arrive it was extremely heavy and passing tissue.

my bloods and swabs are all normal, and today I have an ultra scan to check things. My partner has his appointment next week.

@Jee95 hey! Also 28 and trying for our first. We’re on cycle 11- Never had a positive pregnancy test before.
Got privately tested at 6 months in, and found out I have a thin lining and OH has low sperm count.
I’ve also had blood tests and all come back ‘normal’ but I spot pre-period and of course have the thin lining with no known cause.

So fed up of it all…! I’m not a patient person generally so this is hell! 🙈

@MissEmily5 Hey, thanks for adding this! I really do understand how you’re feeling! I had my ultra scan today and looks like my uterus is slightly heart shaped - however wouldn’t be a problem conceiving!

would be great to keep in contact! It’s a nightmare having to wait!

Hello! It's been about 16 months for me too... I'm feeling quite down about it tonight and the pressure to conceive before getting married in September next year. I had a positive in November but miscarried and had to spend a few days in hospital - the whole process was horrible and I lost a lot of blood which took me a while to recover from.

I have been doing acupuncture and Chinese herbs as my Qi is weak - all related to stress... I overwork a lot and have a doctors note to reduce my work days to 3 days a week. Have you tried acupuncture? Xx

@pagey23 hey, I’m so sorry to hear about this. I really do understand how you feel! What is Qi?

no, I have heard acupuncture is good and would be really interested to hear more about it!

Hiya,

27 and ttc #1. Came off contraception nearly 3 years ago, actively trying since I had a chemical in Apr 2023. I do have pcos so very much struggle with anticipating when I will ovulate.

Drs have just done my referral to the fertility clinic in the hope I can at least get metformin.

Feels like everyone gets pregnant so easy when you've been struggling ☹️

Jee95 · 05/07/2024 21:51

@greentree16 i hope you get answers at the clinic. I know how you feel - feels like you see babies and pregnant women everywhere! I know that it will happen eventually.

I have anxiety and depression and was told that this takes extra long to conceive…

@Jee95 oh really? Does that make a difference or potentially cause any difficulties? And definitely up for keeping in touch- it’s a tricky situation and quite an isolating one.

@pagey23 very sorry to hear about your miscarriage❤️‍🩹 I understand the pressure of conceiving with a wedding coming up. Slightly different situation from you, but I got married last November and now I have to deal with lots of people asking when we’re trying for a family and my friends and family all getting pregnant within a month- it’s heartbreaking. How are you finding acupuncture? I’m currently looking into this- I’ve been having reflexology to help with my thin uterus lining but this was my next thing to try.

@greentree16 I hope you get what you need from the doctors- it horrid having to wait for things which you need. When me and my OH was told about our issues it was just a case of wait and see but hoping now that it’s further along they’ll do something as they know it’s a problem! But we’ll see. Sending you all the luck 🍀

@MissEmily5 the dr told me all is good, so I assume I’ll be ok. I’ll just keep trying and won’t give up! If it ends up as IVF so be it! Yes, keeping in touch would be great, I feel so lonely about it. Only my partner knows (obviously) so it’s been hard!
