Was that my period?

Hi ladies.

We’ve been ttc for over 10years.
I finally put my big girl pants on and called the doctors. I need to go in for bloods and scans etc.

However…. My period was a day late. I thought it had come as I went for my morning wee and I wiped blood. Shoved a tampon in and when I took it out there was barely anything on it. Next day, only old blood on it not even covering half of it. Stopped using the tampons and not had any issues.

I’m now 5 days past my period so decided to test. I tested Saturday and it was negative. I tested at 6.20am Sunday morning and it looked negative so I left it on the side and went back to bed. When I got up again it had a faint second line. So I decided to test again with my SMU and again had a faint line within the time scale window.

yesterday morning the second lines looked grey but I called my OH to see if he could see them (the first time in over 10yrs I’ve asked him to look at a test) and he could see both lines on the tests. I pulled the test out the bin from Saturday night and it’s definitely negative. We were out all day and I obviously checked the tests again as I thought I was imaging the lines. And they’re there and pink. But in the morning they did look grey. They were Morrisons tests.

Hubby went out last night and got Tesco tests and I did one and it’s definitely negative. But my wee was very diluted.

tested again this morning and it looked negative but again after checking it again and hour later it had a faint line, although not sure on the colour

Ordered FR tests to come today.

Just looking for some hope.

My normal cycle signs are bad pmt, sore boobs and really bloated. I’ve got none of them. Slightly scared as I’m 35 and scared it could be early menopause

Hi,

unfortunately, leaving the test 'cooking' for too long can give a false positive result. The reason for this is due to the urine evaporating if left for too long; it can leave a faint line which can be mistaken as a positive test.

test results are only valid for up to 10-20 mins I believe. so it's not a good idea to check them again hours later or next day

I hope that you get your ++++++ soon!!

You did the right thing calling the Drs and getting checked 💕remember your partner needs to get checked too as we sometimes forget that they can be the ones with fertility issues

xoxo

Thank you for your response ☺️

I know that looking after the specified time is silly and doesn’t help answer anything.

the one yesterday morning had a faint line in the time space but I just wasn’t sure if it had colour to it. My OH could see it too.

it’s all just so odd as I’ve never had anything like this. I don’t even feel like AF is coming.

I did wonder if the light bleed was implantation as my periods are normally horrendous and really heavy for the first few days and this was practically non existent

I keep my fingers and toes crossed for you that this is it! pls keep us posted :)

Thank you. I will do. I’ve just been out on my lunch break and brought some more tests 🙈😂 now to hold off testing until the morning.

I think for me, this all feels a bit different. I’ve never had a hint of a line on anything and to have a faint one within the time window has shocked me

I think AF is coming. Started to get cramping and brown when I wiped 😢

Congratulations 🥳

Tentative congratulations. I experienced a bit of bleeding when my period was due and then nothing. Testing was negative for a while and then eventually tested positive.

May I suggest that as you're bleeding a bit again you contact the GP - see if they'll see you early, but explain you've been ttc for 10 years and that you've had a bit of strange bleeding.

DoraBella88 · 02/07/2024 07:53

Thank you. I will do. I only spoke to them last month for fertility help 😂 so I will call them and explain what’s going on
