Antidepressants TTC

I've been TTC for 3 months. I'm not on antidepressants but my depression has worsened over that time and I feel like I need to go on them. Does anyone know if they are safe for TTC/pregnancy and what GP recommendation is likely to be? If there's a risk I don't want to go on them, and will have to just try and treat it naturally. Ideally would love therapy too but just can't afford it.

I don't know if regards to affecting ttc but I do know when I was on them they absolutely ruined my sex drive. To the point when my partner even touched me I hated it, it went through me. I know that lowering your sex drive is very very common so I think that's relevant to know when you want to try for a baby

Definitely speak to GP about options first

Hello! Id speak to your GP but I am on one called sertraline, which is an ssri and the only one safe for pregnancy. I want to lower my dose, as there are some risks for baby, although a small chance. Best of luck

I took sertealine all the way through my last pregnancy. My son is now 16, currently at his Prom. He’s a fabulous young man. One of his (ex) teachers came up to me today to say how much they’ll miss him.

it’s fine, take the antidepressant.

Thank you everyone. I think I'll make an appointment and take it from there.
