No lh surge?

I've been testing using cheapies and the clear blue, and I'm in CD20 today and I've not had any kind of surge yet. I'm starting to get worried that I'm not going to ovulate. My cycles are usually between 30 and 32 days (could be longer) but this was the 5th day of flashing smiley and the cheapie tests are so negative and not getting darker at all. Last month I got a positive lh cheapie on cd19.
Any thoughts?

This was me this cycle! I normally get positive/peak ovulation on cd19 so assume ovulation on cd20. This month I didn't get a positive opk but have kept testing daily to see what happens. Due my period tomorrow and yesterday got a blazing positive. I can only assume late ovulation. I've never had such a positive test. Annoyingly hadn't dtd in 4 days so dtd last night and will do so tonight but tests are still pretty high. I took a pregnancy test and it's negative so I'd imagine it's an unusually late ovulation. Means my cycle will end up being 40+ days! Not sure if it's something to be concerned about. The same might happen with you, just keep testing.

I bet you it's any day now 🤗
Tomorrow or the day after.
Especially with the flashing smileys.
Then if you have a 10 day luteal phase that would give you around a 32 day cycle still. Or a 12 day luteal phase then a slightly longer cycle this month but nothing crazy.

Just try be patient, relax and keep dtd in case.

Thanks @sippers @jellyfish2 I have had a bit of EWCM the last 2 days aswell. Maybe I'm just being impatient!

I had very similar happen, usually ovulate around cd18/19 for a ~32 day cycle, once it didnt peak, kept testing and it appeared on cd24 instead. I guess late ovulation can happen. It was a good job I kept testing because we were going to stop dtd, luckily didn’t and it resulted in ds.

We are back ttc again now, first proper cycle after stopping the mini pill and a period.

Keep testing, hopefully it will appear soon.

Still flashing smiley today but my cheapie looked like this. Top one was yesterday and bottom on this morning so I think it's starting to get darker??

@Blue2020 how are you getting on? Is this your first cycle back?

@butterfly1511 ah thats great.

Yes, I’m currently cd11, I have just started using lh strips and bbt. I don’t usually ovulate until cd18/19 though so I still likely have a week to go.

Good luck with ovulation and the tww.

When the cheap ones start getting darker - start testing two or even three times a day to accurately pinpoint your peak - and remember not to use FMU with them.

butterfly1511 · 28/06/2024 07:41

@Bluebys I tested in the afternoon aswell yesterday and got a peak on the cheapie. I'll attach.
Why shouldn't you use FMU with those ones?

@butterfly1511 I think typically the lh builds up in the morning. I don’t fully know though, I just followed the booklet and check after 10am. I suppose it might still show strongly for some people by the early morning but it suggests the peak may appear later in the day.
