OMG I'm pregnant!?!

Oh my god....

So, cycle 11, never been pregnant before, suspected endo, I've been posting here a lot over the past year.

I did a clearblue ultra early 10/11 DPO as was about to go to a conference and it was a clear negative - so depressing - so I started drinking at the conference... prob half to a whole bottle of wine each day for three days! I now feel terrible.

I also didn't and still don't FEEL pregnant. My boobs got sore around DPO 8 as usual but stopped being sore and felt slightly less full so I "knew" i wasn't pregnant again this month.

I did an easy@home test this morning as I'm due on my period today and thought may as well do a final disappointing check before packing tampons in my bag and going to the pub!

Cue one of the happiest and most shocking moments of my life!

I'm a bit worried that it's faint. Here's an easy@home, clearblue digital and Sainsbury's own test all from the same FMU sample. For anyone who's been pregnant before does this look ok? Obv I know it doesn't always work out so mentally preparing myself.

I'll book an early scan privately to check. Does anyone have a place they'd recommend in London? And what week is best? I'm tempted for 6 weeks but suppose 8 is better?

Sorry so many Qs obviously my head is buzzing and I'm absolutely and completely over the moon but also cautious..!

7 weeks scan should be fine. Endless private options in London, and NHS EPU will see you if you have concerns.

Best of luck, wish you a smooth and healthy pregnancy

These are the tests 😬

Are they a bit weak for FMU 14 DPO? I can test again in a couple of days I suppose? Would you keep testing frequently in early pregnancy?

Congratulations! I booked for 7 weeks, sooner but usually late enough to see what you need to see! How exciting for you 🥹

Brukli · 23/06/2024 10:26

Congrats! 🥂

With my first pregnancy, I only got a faint positive like that 8 days after my period was late (loads of negatives before that). I’d be boozing and smoking like a trooper as thought I clearly wasn’t pregnant.

It was all fine! Healthy pregnancy and baby.

NamingConundrum · 23/06/2024 10:27

Congratulations! Honestly I wouldn't book before 8 weeks. Early scans usually provide worry not reassurance. It's really easy to be a week out and not see anything, then all you can do is wait to be scanned again.

That is reassuring thank you!

I did try being sober while TTC... but by cycle 11 no. It's been quite a stressful and emotional process!! Enjoying my last (!?) coffee now...

Congratulations!

Please don’t worry about the drinking, it’s very unlikely to have caused any harm as the eng is only just implanted.

How exciting!

Bells3032 · 23/06/2024 10:54

Amazing congrats. Mine were so faint with baby no 2 til about 20 dpo and I was so anxious. I'm 34 weeks today!! So doesn't mean anything.

Also for the drinking with no 1 I was 7 weeks when I found out (we were trying but turned out I had ovulAted late so when I tested I was only 3 weeks and then got what I thought was my period but was an implantation bleed) and was downing long island ice teas days before funding out. I told my midwife and she said it's the most common question she gets and generally unless you're getting smashed every night likelihood is baby will be fine. This early it doesn't pass through the placenta anyway so it's fine. She was right!!

Congrats!!! ✨ And thanks for this, it's very reassuring.

I haven't had any blood at all but am having light period style cramps today, this is normal right?

Wish I had darker test results but will test every few days I think.. just to be sure.. but also don't want to drive myself mad

Congratulations!! I’ve actually found those tests are stronger with SMU after not drinking much, instead of FMU. Apparently it’s because FMU is hormones from previous day. I also didn’t get stronger lines until about 16dpo x

Peonies12 · 23/06/2024 17:41

I’d wait for private scan till 8 weeks, the place I’ve been only does them from 8 weeks. It allows for your dates being +/- a week or so and the miscarriage likelihood does reduce around 8 weeks with a good heartbeat. Hope it continues well. And I I’d stop testing, it doesn’t change anything.

This is very helpful and reassuring thank you, I'll try it next week.

Thanks also to everyone who has advised on a scan at 8 weeks... maybe I'll do 7 and a half... 🤪 feel like I can't enjoy it v much without knowing it's viable!

Hi OP, how are you getting on? I’m in a similar boat with a fairly faint 14 dpo line on an easy @ home test! I actually have a sainsbos test is to use so going to try that today. Hope you’re okay!

How did you get on with your sains test? Tbh all my sains ovulation tests were rubbish too! I had a similar sort of strength easy@home yesterday SMU but am feeling pregnant now (boobs, tired) and also googled pics of DPO 14-20 progression and see lots are fairly faint at DPO14 so leaving it now until Sunday (she says... trying not to drive myself mad!) when I'm 5 weeks and will test again. Let me know how you get on!

That’s great news! Good idea to take a step back from testing for a bit. My lines are just so faint I don’t see there being a positive outcome here but I will live in hope anyway. I’ve attached a pic, strip test was FMU and sainsbos below was SMU. Both lines appeared within window and have colour.

@PurpleBath I understand why you're worried but you're pregnant for now at least - are you sure you ovulated the day you think you did? Could you have ovulated late? I would perhaps try a FRER test as they're very sensitive x

You’re right, it’s just so alll consuming. I was tracking BBT and LH using NC so going off their predictions and as far as I know they’re fairly accurate. I suppose could be late implantation. The sainsbos test is definitely darker than yesterdays. I’m definitely feeling nauseous this morning so I’m adding that to my list of reasons to be optimistic!

18 DPO 😍
