Any hope for poor line progression? Or should I resign myself to a chemical?

Background: Had an ectopic pregnancy in 2020, DD in 2021, MMC in February 2024

I got a BFP on Sunday (11dpo), taken another test today (13dpo) and the tests look exactly the same. Pic is 11dpo at the top and 13dpo at the bottom.

Should I resign myself to a chemical, or is there any hope?

To the extent that 'line progression' is a thing (and we all know it's an attempt to use a qualitative test to give a quantitative result, and thus very inexact) I have never found easy@home (or similar cheapies) to be any good at showing it. Especially this early on. (Honestly I think they're a bit shit.)

I get, absolutely, the anxiety - I have a ridiculously checkered miscarriage history myself - but take a deep breath and remember that you can't know anything really from these two treats other than that you're currently pregnant.
If not knowing is causing you anxiety and you need more data, I'd suggest getting HCG blood tests at a 48 hour interval (medichecks do one you can do by post, if you can't get this any other way). But ultimately, I'm afraid you just need to wait and see what happens. I am sending you cautious congratulations and will keep everything crossed for you - I do think there's hope.

@MrsB2019x I could have written this myself. Mine look exactly like yours 2 days apart and today I’m also 13 dpo. Although they’re early detection I don’t think they progress that well. We’re going to be fine 👌

blacksocks33 · 18/06/2024 08:34

@MrsB2019x try with a different brand!
With my son I had a stark white negative at 12dpo and then a full positive at 14 dpo. You're not out until you're out! ❤️

KittyFantastica · 18/06/2024 09:19

I find the easy@home great for early detection, but not great at showing progression. They're sensitive, but slow showers.

I've attached two pictures of my first few days last week. First picture is easy@home and they look virtually the same. Second picture is Wondfo and you can see a bit of a difference between the two.

Having said that, hcg should increase every 48ish hours, so it's very, very normal not to see any difference between one day and the next. I know the anxiety, I had a chemical in January and a MMC in March. Give it a few more days and reassess then.

@Persipan Thank you, I had decent progress on these tests with my MMC so was hoping for the same with this one 😔 but I think I will try a different brand. Got digitals at home but don’t want to waste them!

Congratulations @T0r11210 wishing you al the best for your pregnancy! Keep me updated 🤞

Thanks @KittyFantastica , and congratulations 💖

I’m spotting now.. it’s getting harder to stay positive 😔

Im in the same situation, im late 3 days , faint positives and im spotting pink and brown a bit from yesterday morning

MrsB2019x · 18/06/2024 14:57

Sending you lots of luck @Juliaaaaa 🧡
If my tests still look the same tomorrow I’m going to ask the doctor for a blood test, with my precious ectopic I don’t see why they wouldn’t if I’m now spotting 🤷🏻‍♀️

MrsB2019x · 19/06/2024 06:41

14dpo update, can’t see much change today either. Will phone doctors today and hopefully they will agree to blood tests 🤞

I would say that there's definite progress since the 11dpo test and, I think, some since yesterday as well. And, as I said before, in my experience easy@home just don't show progression that well anyway (I was a bit harsh about them yesterday and in fairness they do a perfectly good job of their intended use, but if you want to see progress I just don't think they show it that well, especially this early).

I hope you're able to get blood tests and will keep everything crossed for you.

MrsB2019x · 19/06/2024 21:31

Spoke to the GP today who referred me to EPU because of my history. They won’t do bloods but have booked me in for a scan next Wednesday. I’ll only be 5 weeks (on the dot) so I don’t think they will actually see anything which will give me even more anxiety! 😔

Have you got a pic of the three of them together?

TheShellBeach · 19/06/2024 22:18

I actually think that your lines have got darker, OP.

But I do understand your anxiety.

Persipan · 20/06/2024 06:42

If you bat you eyelids at the epu, perhaps they can be persuaded to do blood tests (since, as you say, they're probably not going to see anything to speak of on a scan yet at that point). Hope this morning is treating you well, OP.

purplecolouroffunk · 20/06/2024 09:45

@MrsB2019x i think your line is definitely progressing 🙂

@MrsB2019x and @KittyFantastica and anyone else who would like to join - I started a thread for recent BFPs after a recent loss, and there are a few of us over there if you fancy joining. We’re going to hand hold a bit if we can in these early stages 💜

Thanks for checking in 🥰
This morning’s test is more reassuring. I’m not relaxing just yet but I’m happier with how this one has turned out.
Have attached pics of today’s test and all of them together on Premom.
Got 2-3 on a digital today too 🤞

Thanks @purplecolouroffunk I’ll definitely head over 💜 I’m nowhere near confident enough to join a February due date group yet!

Oh, that's a very convincing line, I hope it's at least a little bit reassuring (I know it never is really but it's more so than the alternative). Keeping everything crossed for you!

MrsB2019x · 20/06/2024 18:56

Thank you @Persipan , I’m feeling better about it, definitely still anxious though especially as the spotting is still continuing. Hopefully will be able to know for sure on Wednesday 🤞

@MrsB2019x lovely line progression. Fingers crossed for you. Beautiful news x

KittyFantastica · 20/06/2024 22:20

I have everything crossed for you @MrsB2019x! My tests didn't pick up until 17DPO in my last pregnancy and although it was a loss, it wasn't an implantation issue like I thought it might be looking at my early positives. Wishing you the very best outcome!
