TTC after mini pill help!

Hi, I've been on the mini pill for around 10 years and had no periods whilst on it. I came off in Feb, had a heavy bleed end of March and a few days spotting in May. How long could it take for my periods to get back to normal?

I was on the mini pill for an about 10 years, has a 2 year break (was hoping to start trying but then decided to become a teacher) then was on it again for another year after that- I had one really long cycle coming off and then they went to around 27/28 days… that was a year and half ago and my cycle for the past six or so months has gone crazy (suddenly very irregular).

My doctor said this unfortunately is normal… your body can take up to 2 years to regulate after being on hormonal contraception. Not saying this will happen to you or anyone else but there is no specific time for these things!

Wish I could give you better news but I’d say start tracking and get to know your body before putting it under any pressure to conceive (just to protect yourself for heartache)… I’m currently on cycle 10 of TTC and with my periods suddenly going haywire I feel very let down with my body.
