Early ovulation (day 8-10)

Hi all, I’m currently ttc number 3 after a big age gap (dc1 was still born 11 years ago and dc is now 9).

I think that I am ovulating very early, despite having 28 day cycles. I am having cervical mucus pretty much as soon as my period ends, and then the white sticky mucus by day 10/11. I’ve so far failed to get a positive ovulation test, (testing from day 9, but will start earlier next month).

Has anybody managed to get pregnant with early ovulation (Google suggests this is likely to be an issue 😞) also has anybody found a way to increase the follicular phase??

Incidentally, with both previous pregnancies I had my due date moved forwards by 5-6 days at the 12 week scan. At the time I didn’t felt that my scan dates must be incorrect, as I was having 32 day cycles at the time, but now it makes sense!

Hey,

I'll start by caveating that I have no proper medical knowledge and perhaps someone more knowledgeable will be along soon, but I thought I'd share my experience and pieces of information I've managed to piece together based on a long period TTC, interactions with my fertility clinic and extensive Googling!

My understanding is that earlier ovulation can occur when your body starts producing high levels of FSH hormone at the start of your cycle so the follicles in the ovary grow more quickly. This is the case for me (I have had IVF cycles cancelled due to high FSH) and I think I may be close to perimenopause (I'm 38 with diminished ovarian reserve). I have read that earlier ovulation can mean lower egg quality.

I have conceived when I ovulated on day 10 but unfortunately this resulted in a miscarriage at 10 weeks.

My luteal phase was still 14 days when I ovulated early.

@twoforwardandtwoback thanks for your reply. Sorry to hear about your long journey and miscarriage.

What you’ve said about the high levels of FSH makes sense and I wonder if that is what I am experiencing also (I’m 39).
