Very strong LH / ovulation test

hi!

i have done an ovulation LH test today and the line is so so dark? I have always tracked my temperature so i thought i ovulated 4/5 days ago so we had unprotected sex.

my period is due in 7 days??? Can anybody help explain this??

Hey @esunny I realise your question is from ages ago, but I wonder what the outcome was... I realised after my MMC that ovulation tests are also made positive by hcg. Were you pregnant? If not (although I hope you were or are!) I wonder what your thoughts on temp testing are. I've yet to find a thermometer that will give two same readings in a row, and so don't use them. Do you have a very accurate one? Have you tested it? Wishing you the best.

Hey I wasn’t pregnant at this time! But I am 12 weeks today.

funnily enough my ovulation tests were stark white when I was pregnant! I have read it can go either way though. I think I was ovulating earlier than I thought x

Aw I love when that happens (I post on an older thread and it's good news!) really happy for you. 12 weeks is brilliant! Hope it's been smooth so far.

So weird to get strong opks and not be ovulating... just trying to work out every possible issue with my own cycle as I'm three years in and only one pregnancy (mmc and ivf in tow). I'd hate to learn that for some reason I can't trust the opks!

if recommend temping if you haven’t been already. I use the Clue app and tracked everything on there! Logged my opks on there. I found having sex two days before ovulation and on the day of and the day after really helped xx

I do want to do temping but I've bought two bbt thermometers from Amazon and neither give consistent readings if I test three times in a row. Is yours good?

I use the easy@home one and it’s pretty good. Honestly though, my baby is awake every 60-90 mins so I never get a consistent time “after 4 hours of uninterrupted sleep” and it’s still very obvious when my temp rises post-ovulation so it’s worth starting while you figure out a different thermometer

Ah thanks for the advice! I actually bought an easy@home one that's giving me the varied readings. Maybe I'll try it despite inaccuracy and see if the temp change is obvious. I had a much more defined opk peak this cycle and (I suppose after ivf my ovaries are still recovering) rather strong ovulation pain for two days.

Bless your wee one! It must be so hard not getting good sleep (and simultaneously kinda nice being so connected with them inside you!)
