TTC after coming off the pill

Hey everyone!

28 with no known fertility problems.
I came off of the combination pill start of May after around 11 years on it. Got a withdrawal bleed 3 days later (which is usual for when I take a pill break).
We started trying straight away but no luck for this first cycle. Had a natural period start of June. It came earlier than I expected and was very light (which at first convinced me it was implantation bleeding) but BFN 16dpo.
I've read so many mixed things online about coming off the pill and getting pregnant and it all feels like a minefield.

Would love to hear real stories 🩶

Hello I was 32 when I came off the pill (after being on it since I was 16). I came off 1st Jan and my first baby was born beginning of December so it was fairly quick.

Hi OP, I came off my pill last year in July, had my withdrawal bleed, and 3 weeks later had a positive pregnancy test. Now sat with my 7 week old baby girl! So it can definitely happen quickly! X

I came off the pill in Feb 2021 and got pregnant April/May 2021. We used condoms in between as I wanted to avoid a Christmas baby and wanted to track my cycle (didn't have periods on the pill), so it was actually the first try. I wonder if it would have been sooner otherwise!

I wish we thought of coming off sooner and using condoms up until we were ready! That was too much planning for my brain to handle though with my final exams/essays and applying for jobs 😂

To be honest i don't think I'm normal with how much I plan and organise things like this😅 most people just stop and get on with it. DH wasn't best pleased with the condom idea, as you can imagine!

Just remember a year is normal, and it can take your body a while to adjust.

Im 38, already have 4 kids. Was on mini pill for over ten years, stopped it on 26th feb, withdrawal bleed 3 days later then 30 days later 1st period, 32 days after another period and then got my BFP. Took 12 weeks from stopping pill to get my BGP. I used ovulation tests as well which did indicate i ovulated aswel so was able to plan my fertile days. I though it would take me ages being older but it was quick. I am now 5 weeks and 4 days :-) good luck x

I think if you've got the skill to plan ahead then use it!
