Advice about implantation

Hey,

This is our second cycle of TTC and I ovulated on the 20th May as I tested so I'm 11DPO today, last time I was pregnant I thought I was starting my period and it was implantation bleeding, but only lasted a day.

This time I started bleeding 2 days ago, tested the day before yesterday after I started spotting and was negative, had a bright red bleeding episode that day, then nothing was just wiping brown, had sx with my husband yesterday and I had bright red blood after, then overnight/today no more bleeding at all and I tested again this morning and got a faint positive.

Has anyone had implantation bleeding that was bright red or is that unrelated? I'm going to just keep testing and see what happens but I was just wondering if anyone has any similar stories or if implantation bleeding is always just brown?

Hi! Similar story to you - we ovulated almost the exact same day. I've had light spotting as well, with a bit of brighter but no heavier blood today. I've read, though, that implantation bleeding is a myth so may not be the most reliable thing. With my last pregnancy, I didn't during implantation. Sorry this reply isn't very scientific!

Everything crossed for you!

No all good! Thank you for replying!

I remember specifically that I thought I was starting my period last time as I text my best friend about not being pregnant 😂 then 2 days later I www like, nope, ignore that message.

I will just have to wait and see I guess! I have read implantation bleeds aren't always accurate etc, but it seems weird I bled last time and have again this time, if the positive is a positive and not a chemical or anything.

Have you tested this month?

So hoping you are!! If so, this gives me hope as I had some blood today (still really light) and started to worry! The wait seems so long, so I totally get you, I've come on Mumsnet to find others who want to obsess over every tiny little sign until it's a definite yes or no! 😂

I'm not going to test, I had a miscarriage a few months ago and I'm not sure I can deal with a negative test. I'll be able to deal better with just my body showing me in due course! I'm on day ten or 11 so I still have a bit more to wait, especially as my cycles have been longer since the MC so my period may come later!

I’ve heard implantation bleeding can be a little heavier with twins. Seeing you got a positive after the bleed I wouldn’t talk about a chemical as that’s usually the other way around.

Oh that's interesting, yeah I wasn't going to test again as got negatives and just thought my cycle was a bit mixed up and was having a shorter period, but I have totally stopped bleeding so I decided to test one last time today for this cycle haha x

The wait is forever isn't it, sometimes when I hear about people who don't find out their pregnant until they are much later on sometimes I am slightly jealous that they didn't obsess or stress haha

I'm sorry to hear about your miscarriage, that must have been awful. I'll keep everything crossed for you x

Yes! Some people get all the way through the awful first trimester without realising - lucky!

Thank you! Staying absolutely positive and seeing what life brings. The community on Mumsnet have been such a great support system, even if I do just dip in and out.

Send us an update when you feel ready!

Doesn’t look like a chemical? 🙏🏻 x

I actually don't know anything about chemical pregnancies but... Yay!! So happy for you if this is what we think it is!!

Unfortunately it wasn't our month this month but won't be giving up! 🙌

I’m currently going through this at the minute!
I noticed a bit of bleeding on Monday (3 days before my period was due) so took a stick test and it came back with a vv faint line. Took a test again yesterday (Tuesday) and it came back with as a very clear positive. Took one again this morning just to be sure and again it’s a very faint positive but I am still bleeding quite a bit. I would say it’s heavier than just spotting. Hoping it’ll clear off!
im winding myself up as I feel like I’m getting mixed messages. We’ve decided that we’re going to take it as a positive for now and then retest on Monday which will be 4 days after my period is due and hopefully we will have more of an result and just keep an eye on the bleeding.
any advice?

Hello! I'm currently 13 weeks pregnant! My little one stuck.

I bled quite a bit during the first trimester, proper red blood too, and baby is all healthy so far and all looks good. I would test again in a couple of days and see what happens, I wouldn't necessarily rule out not being pregnant with the bleeding as I said, I bled a lot and am still okay so it can happen. Thinking of you xx
