I’m currently 6 or 7 days post ovulation and waiting to find out if we have conceived or not. I can’t help but notice I’ve had light cramping for the past few days.. like period pain in my legs. Also feeling a little nauseous. Has anyone experienced these symptoms before testing positive? I know I just need to wait it out and see what the pregnancy test says next week but I can’t help but wonder!

Hello, I'm currently going through this right now! I did take a pregnancy test very early "6dpo" and a very faint line appeared, the next day I did a test again as I was excited/shocked but they came back negative 💔 same again today I did more test and negative again!! 😞 wait a few more days and do a test. X

I've had cramping before a period and before a BFP.

Most early pregnancy symptoms in my view, are just people being more sensitive to their bodily changes.

This is why those who aren't intentionally TTC often don't notice until their period is very late.

Rosiejj5 · 30/05/2024 15:04

I had convinced myself AF was starting due to the cramps and ‘wet’ feeling but ended up with a bfp. I use to test early but this month didn’t even bother that’s how certain I was that it would be negative due to usual period cramps etc. however I do also get them before a period so it’s hard to say!x

I'm technically a few days late and haven't had any spotting yet which I normally experience 2-3 days before my period is due, however the lack of other symptoms makes me think my period is just late. Like other posters have said, its so hard to differentiate between pregnancy and period symptoms but so easy to drive yourself mad! I've had plenty of cycles where I thought "this is it!" and my period has arrived, so I'm trying to keep a sensible head this time round haha.

With my first I got a positive at 8dpo due to gagging and feeling nauseous
You could always try a test in the next few days.

Yeah I completely agree, people TTC are definitely a lot more sensitive and aware of any twinge or bodily change! I just find it weird I’m having these cramps as I don’t usually get them until the day before my period (which is more than a week away!). Time will tell 🤞🏽 x

Honestly, I'd ignore any symptoms. Before you test positive, any symptoms are caused by progesterone. Progesterone rises in early pregnancy and also pre period. When you start to get HCG related symptoms (pregnancy specific) then you'll also test positive.

Personal experience - I've been pregnant twice. One I felt unusual early on but that pregnancy wasn't successful. The second (successful) pregnancy my first "sign" was a positive test.

Harriet1989 · 02/06/2024 19:26

I agree with PP, I've had months where I've been convinced I've got early pregnancy symptoms like nausea or sore boobs and got AF bang on time or a day later. I got a BFP this month but I'd been more relaxed so either I was less aware of symptoms or I didn't have any. Your hCG levels don't rise until implantation so as PP says the annoying bit is that progesterone causes the other symptoms earlier on and that's the same for whether you're pregnant or not.

There's also the chance that some months I've been late it's been a chemical but I'd rather not know, I find it tough getting a BFP and then get my hopes up so I try to wait (I'm not great at waiting very long past when AF is due!)

Just an update - I did a ClearBlue 6 day early this morning and got a faint positive! 🥺🙏🏼.

Over the past few days I’ve been feeling nauseous, light headed at times like I’m going to pass out, and had twinges in my uterus so I did feel like something was going on 🤩

I feel very sceptical though and can’t help but worry it could be a chemical as I’m due on my period in a few days and feel very period like!

Will test over the next few days and see if the line gets stronger ☺️🙏🏼.
