Infertility - no response. Need advice

Hi,

I was hoping someone might be able to provide some advice. My IVF treatment was cancelled recently as I did not respond to the treatment. We're absolutely devastated. I've just turned 39. My partner and I had been trying for 2yrs prior to starting IVF. My AMH is very low at 1.5. I don't think I've had any AFC test (I see other threads where people have mentioned this).

My consultant advised that as I'm still ovulating and there is nothing wrong with my partners sperm, that we have every chance of conceiving naturally.

I don't know if by not responding to this treatment, whether that means I'm not likely to respond to other forms of treatment, or if there are other options available. I had syranel spray for 4 weeks, then started a high dose (350IU) of Gonal-f for 1 week. 8 days into gonal f, I had a scan which showed no response. My dose was increased to 450IU for another 4 days. My last scan showed no change to my ovaries and estrogen had not changed.

I'm really unsure how to move forward as we thought IVF was going to be the answer for us. I didn't consider that I wouldn't respond to treatment at all so not getting to the stage of egg retrieval has left me feeling pretty low. After taking meds each day for so long, and preparing for egg retrieval and an embryo transfer, I just feel so lost now that this has all stopped.

Any words of advice would be welcome.

Thanks x

@ChirpySunshine hi, sorry you are going through this! ❤️
If you post on Infertility board there might be more people who could advise.

I am going through secondary infertility, due to being over 40. Had 3 egg collections, very good amount and embryos, but all 10 abnormal chromosomes.. I understand the emotional and physical challenges doing ivf
