I have been prescribed Metformin for my irregular periods (slightly apprehensive as I generally have a regular 36 day cycle with the very occasional 48 day one thrown in there.. so on the whole quite regular). I am going to start taking it tomorrow which will be cycle day 2. Does anyone know if it will affect ovlulation immediately? I.e does anyone have any idea when I will ovulate? There is a lack of info out there with this drug and I feel that no one has really sat us down to explain everything.. I don't even know for sure that I have insulin resistant PCOS! Sorry for the ramble but hoping someone might have some info on 1. will this drug make me have shorter cycles and therefore ovulate earlier? and 2. will this happen straight away or will I still have a 36ish day cycle this time?
