Too late to test?

I went to the doctors yesterday as been having ALOT of discomfort in my hips, lower back and even down my leg... and then on and off sharp shooting pains in my stomach randomly throughout the past few days. Also I'm late with my period.

She told me that she thinks it could be one of two things: IBS or I could be Pregnant.

I explained I've taken some tests and they are stark white negative and I'm already like 3 days late. But she said to test again in 2 to 3 weeks?! Which confused me as that seems a long time to wait to test again 🤔 that would mean I would be verging on 7 to 8 weeks if I was to be pregnant.

Any ideas what her thoughts process could have been by saying that or if this has happened to anyone else?

Sounds old fashioned!
In the old days it would be routine to be tested 2 weeks after a missed period at the GP, but that was before all the at home and sensitive early tests were widely available.
There is a small chance a positive could show in the next couple days, so I would test again this week if I were you. It’s rare for it to show that late, but not impossible!

Okay thank you 😁

I've been testing and been 100% negative so just assumed I'd have even a faint line by now if I was pregnant with me being 4 days late, but I will keep testing over the coming weekend just incase 👍
