Have I done something stupid?

I'm TTC'ing for seven months now. Yesterday I had a positive ovulation test, and today my husband left for work until the weekend, so last night was our last chance to get pregnant this cycle.

Unfortunately I've not been feeling okay during the past few days, and yesterday I even had a fever and I had to throw up a few times. Definitely a no-go for sex!

However, I couldn't sleep last night and while I was feeling miserable, I kept thinking: we shouldn't waste this cycle! I know this sounds totally stupid but we had sex, although I don't think I should use the word sex here... it was more me trying not to throw up while my husband was doing his best to get there as fast as he could. Looking back to what I did I feel SO ashamed but I simply HAD to do it.

Is this something you guys recognize? Or have I done something stupid that might even cause a miscarriage or something like that?

I'm sure it wasn't hugely romantic, but equally I'm not sure that having a virus at the time of conception would cause a miscarriage. Pregnant women catch colds and bugs the same as anyone else. Our bodies are batting off viruses everyday. Get some rest and make it a night to forget. What will be will be.

It’s just one of those not anything to be worried about. You’re not pregnant…yet so it wouldn’t cause a miscarriage and even if you were I can’t see why it would cause an issue

I think you're getting yourself a little worked up here. It's very likely I had COVID (and the jab!) during the first weeks of my pregnancy and my baby was completely unharmed by it. There's nothing to be ashamed about, we've all had less than desirable sex whilst TTC! x
