Currently TTC number 2 and struggling after getting pregnant fairly easily with number 1 (on cycle 3)!
Thought I'd start a thread so we can all support each other. Anyone else on their TTC journey for number 2? I am currently on cycle 7 and have ruled myself out already as negative pregnancy test at 10DPO. Each month I convince myself that I am pregnant! Experienced a chemical at cycle 3 😩

Hey hun! I still get the occasional brown spotting but I did a clearblue the other day and it was 3 plus so that felt nice although it probably doesn’t mean anything.

I did mention it to the doctor when I was 15dpo but she just said got to wait and see what happens so they weren’t really bothered. I think I will get an early scan privately as I know the NHS won’t offer one. Did you get an early scan?

@NattyPeer ohhhh that sounds really good - keeping everything crossed for you. When was your period due?
Yeah I got one at about 8 weeks, definitely couldn't wait til the NHS one - when are you thinking of having one?xx

Thank you! It was due on 26th November but because I got my first faint positive on 21st November it seems like time is going very slowly haha! I was thinking of trying to get one on 15th Dec as would like one before Christmas. The weeks calculation confuses me a lot 😂

Thanks @NattyPeer for your reassurance. I got a much clearer clear blue this morning so feeling a bit better but positive tests after miscarriage aren’t easy are they…. Very anxious.

How are you doing hun? Xx

Silly question but how do you actually take your temp? Like where does the thermometer have to go to get the most accurate reading? I can’t work it out looking at them, is it internal or under your arm pit?

I do it under my tongue 😊

Thank you! That sounds easy enough ☺️

I might try it next month if we are successful this time round.

I used a thermometer (to two decimal places- cheap one from Amazon) and then put it into fertility friend app. I just used the free part of the app which worked well.

SarahB88 · 04/12/2024 21:24

@Blue2020 ah I’ve not heard of that one, thank you. I’ve been using Flo for a while and used it when I got pregnant with my daughter. Only been using premom to log my OPKs but not sure how good it is for other info so will check this one out.

Blue2020 · 06/12/2024 14:24

@SarahB88 I used Premom for the ovulation tests, and then fertility friend for the temping and logging DTD, positive ovulation for a peak etc. I preferred the style of fertility friend and it’s a bit better for charting the temperature. However I used Premom for the ease of uploading the tests and tracking them.

Anyone have a thermometer they can recommend? Specifically one that doesn't bloody beep!!

Also, anyone have some baby making friendly lube suggestions? Dh has some dermatitis on his penis and the Dr recommended lube before sex to make sure the skin is softened and at least risk of splitting while he waits for specialist referral

Ouch!!!! We use Preseed which I prefer over conceive plus. Hope he gets that sorted soon.

I have the natural cycles thermometer but it does beep. However, I am sure that any accurate thermometer with decimal places will do the trick to be honest!

Heyyy! So I actually went for a private scan today as I had it booked before the EPU so thought I would still go! Anyway they did an ultrasound (on stomach) and there was the little bean measuring where it should be! The lady did say that the NHS scanners aren’t very good as she works for the NHS and private clinic!!!! Feel much more relieved now. Hoping things will keep looking up.

Sending love and positive vibes. Xx hoping there are some Christmas miracles in this group

Aw that’s great news @NattyPeer how far on are you? Hopefully this one sticks, it’s sounding really positive x

AF is due today for me, nowhere to be seen and testing negative on strip tests so not sure whether I should break out the clear blue and see if it picks up anything. Weirdly my Flo app says it might still be too early to test (I have shorter cycles) so I’m really not sure what’s going on. I usually spot for a couple of days before AF and none of that but there’s not even a hint of a line on the tests so I think I might just be late.

Keeping everything crossed for you that this is a sticky bean ♥️♥️♥️♥️ I'm 25 weeks now with our little miracle and the first part was so stressful worrying about whether it would stay etc. But here we are. The weeks roll on and before you know it your past hallway. Can't quite bring myself to leave the thread as I want to see all the positive updates. Really hope this works out for you and sending everyone else lots of baby dust xxx
