Currently TTC number 2 and struggling after getting pregnant fairly easily with number 1 (on cycle 3)!
Thought I'd start a thread so we can all support each other. Anyone else on their TTC journey for number 2? I am currently on cycle 7 and have ruled myself out already as negative pregnancy test at 10DPO. Each month I convince myself that I am pregnant! Experienced a chemical at cycle 3 😩

@Keewro best of luck.
I'm 38 also and currently ttc number 2.
To be honest I'm not sure I'm mentally ready for number 2 yet as DS is only 4 months but im so conscious of that ticking clock that i dont feel i can wait. As he's an ivf baby I'm not really expecting to fall pregnant quickly/if at all which is why we figured screw it no harm trying. I think we'll give it 6 months and after which try and pursue ivf again.
We only ever managed to fall pregnant the once 2 years ago ( mc) but we both have fertility issues

thanks @VioIetMoon .

i wish you all the best in trying naturally.

i dont think anyone is ever ready really, but i get it, its a tricky one x

That's terrible. I thought they were meant to investigate after 2/3.
Can you speak to your local epu at all?

I just don’t see the point as last time I went they did ultrasound said pregnancy of unknown location and that was that. Only reason they saw me last time was because I had a bit of pain but I don’t have any pain at the moment.

hi all! Hopping (back) on this thread after an unsuccessful try last month.
i struggle reading easyathome OPKs and specifically their reading of the tests. Based on this progression, we had sex on CD36 , yesterday (reading says « peak »? But not 1:1 ratio). I tested this morning again and a super fat positive OPK. Did we time it ok or should we aim to have sex again today or tomorrow? With our other little one who isn’t sleeping we’re fairly tired, could just the one time he enough ?
for reference the close up is from yesterday, a few hours before we DTD

SkaterChick · 08/11/2024 13:33

Hey everyone how are you all doing?
@NattyPeer I think if Tou have it on your records you've had X MC then you can get fertility checks on NHS?

My period finally showed up last week.
I was on for 3 days and no where near as heavy as I was anticipating.
Had ewcm yesterday so that reminded me to start opks. Got am almost positive line last night (I'd only held the wee for an hour too... Are you meant to hold for a couple hours for these? I forget)
Anyway. We dtd and I'll do further opks nest few days.
Hubby is out tonight so hopefully peak won't be today and we can dtd some at the weekend!

So I am actually having some blood tests through the NHS so we shall see what they bring! I was going to go private but because I have managed to get these bloods done, I will wait to see what brings before private! Hopefully something will come of those which can be easily rectified!

Are you doing ok?!

I have no idea whether you hold it or not haha!

@NattyPeer I'm so glad they're looking into it for you. I hope you get some answers and get a successful pregnancy 💜

Opk was much the same today, but still not a positive which is good cause hubby isn't around today.

Lots of people around me are talking about trying to get pregnant and so far I'm not telling anyone cause I don't think I can deal with the people wojderi if it's happened yet.

Hello 👋 I've found my people.

TTC #2, DS is 13 months and I'm 35.

First month of trying, we were going to wait until the new year but the realised that was a bit of an arbitrary time frame and just went for it anyway.

I'm currently mid cycle somewhere, due to ovulate this week sometime (not tracking BBT this month, but based on Flo's analysis of my cycles). Didn't get chance to get more organised as we decided to try sooner than expected.

Nervous about the whole thing 😬 but can't wait at the same time.

DS was conceived first try, and I really need to manage my expectations because I know we were incredibly lucky, and that probably won't happen again.

Not yet.
They went back to being fainter and then yesterday was touch darker and I've had ewcm again today so hopefully in the next day or two.
I'm testing twice a day at the moment as I want to have as much info about my cycle as I can so if my periods stay irregular I will have everything to show the drs

How're you doing? xxx

groseaur · 13/11/2024 10:39

Hi everyone x

My husband (38) and I (34) have been TTC baby #2 for almost a year, with no success. Conceiving our daughter happened very quickly.

I recently had some blood tests done, which shows:
Progesterone level at 17.4 (this was done on day 21, and I ovulated on day 18)
Normal FS, LSH & thyroid function

My doctor told me the progesterone level is within normal range but on the low end.. that they'd expect between 16-28. However, my own research suggests the progesterone test is usually done on day 21 because they assume ovulation happens around day 14, and progesterone apparently peaks 7 days after ovulation. Mine was taken 3 days after ovulation.. so my question is, am I truly low for 3 dpo?! Doc suggested seeing a fertility specialist (she's gynae) but I'm reluctant if the test was just done at the wrong time.

It is so strange isn’t it how the first one can happen so quickly then when trying for the second it’s tough going! I know how you feel!

That is a good question! Are they intending to give you anything or just made suggestions to go to see a fertility specialist?!

please can I ask what your FSH level is? I have had my first set of bloods done so want to see what is considered normal according to the doctors haha.

They didn't tell me and tbf I didn't even ask 🙈🙈 just said all normal no concerns. Once I get the report I'll let you know!

Wondering if I can tentatively join?

Been taking folic acid, and mentally trying to prepare for ttc #2

#1 was a bit of a riot of PND, and a whole host of other bits.

Hey ladies, how is everyone?
Im cd 19/1dpo I think.
After an unusual extended run of dark but not positive opks I finally got my peak on cd17.
Annoyingly we only dtd cd 7 and 15 due to hubby's work schedule and then sickness bug hitting the house.
Were almost over it, well the symptoms have stopped. I'm just utterly exhausted and trying to stop being scared to eat 😅

Heyyyy! Sorry for the delay in responding! Yes all ok here trying to keep up my yoga 😂 do you do any yoga?

Do you vary each month quite a bit with your peak? Aww sorry to hear that you have all been exhausted, that really sucks! Never ideal timing is it! How are you doing now? X

I used to do yoga but not in a long time (pre baby)
I really should get back to doing some more as it does make me feel good! It's finding the time though with a 2.5 yr old running around 😂😂

No my peak is generally within a 2 day window each month so on hoping this isn't the start of another weird irregular cycle 😂
2 close friends announced they're pregnant yesterday so I really can't be dealing with another month of wondering where the fuck my period is!

I'm only cd22 so.. 4dpo maybe?
Feeling much better now and have been able to get ds out of the house which he is very much enjoying!

SarahB88 · 22/11/2024 21:19

Hi everyone. Trying for our second now our daughter is 6 months old. I’m 36 so we’d like to have them close together if possible. First month was unsuccessful but my cycles seemed to have been a bit all over the place prior to that, I’ve now had 2 cycles in a row of the same length so assuming this is a good thing. Period came yesterday so I’ve ordered some ovulation tests to do once period ends just to check I’m ovulating ok. I didn’t track ovulation properly before, just used Flo predictions but my cycles were like clockwork before being pregnant so just want to make sure my body is doing what it should be this time, will probably only use them for 1 month for reassurance otherwise I’ll stress about it 🙈

I’ve been taking pre pregnancy vitamins for a few months to get ready and remembered that I was taking maca supplements when I conceived before so I’ve ordered more of those. Also ordered my partner some male fertility vitamins as I got pregnant the month he took those the last time so hoping to get us in the best place possible.

Our daughter was conceived on the second cycle so would be amazing if it was quick again but will just see how things go.

NattyPeer · 23/11/2024 10:16

Hey ladies, feeling very down today! Felt pregnant so took a test a couple of days ago was a faint positive. Took another today and a digital which showed 1-2 weeks only to end up bleeding a couple of hours later (11dpo today) period wasn’t due for another 4 days 😢 I am once again devastated!
