Hello, I used maca a few years ago and caught that same cycle.
I have started it again, just taking from AF to ovulation I think. I'm interested to see if it works as this is cycle 10 for me.
Just wondering if anyone else is taking it?
And if so, do you plan on stopping at ovulation or taking it without a break?

I’ve heard about this, what does it do?

Hi @T0r11210 , it's meant to help fertility as it balances hormones, helps libido and can help pms too, also good for men as increases sperm count x

I’ve literally just had a Maca and raw cacao hot chocolate, plush stirring it into smoothies and overnight oats.

I don’t love the taste but this is month 17 TTC for us so giving it a try, plus taking Impryl and high quality vitamin D from Wild Nutrition.

I would say so @T0r11210 as I am taking mine along with a million other individual vitamins... well prob not quite a million but it feels like it lol. x

@CotswoldConceptionJourney I love cacao to make hot chocolate, never had the powdered maca, is it a really bad taste then? I am using the capsules.
I used maca once before, about 5 years ago and I fell preg that cycle, not sure if it was coincidence but I am very hopeful, even if it doesn't happen this cycle, maybe next. What cd are you on?
I am 3dpo, I stopped the maca after ovulation, and will restart at AF again. Do you have any side effects from it? x

Hi @LilyNH i'm sorry you are in the same boat... unfortunately no success for me yet, I am at the end of cycle 12 now and I was taking it everyday without a break last couple of cycles going to stop now i think.

But I have started Vitex today, have you ever tried that? I took it the last 2 times that I fell pregnant but both ended in losses, so I was nervous to try anything from that time again but I have researched lots and decided to go for it again. x

Hi @Ladyinpink1 thank you for your reply! I read to take it up until ovulation and then stop as it can mess with your cycles but not sure how true that is! I only stopped bf a couple months ago so maybe my cycle is still trying to get regulated which may be why the maca isn’t helping.

I have heard lots about vitex and similar to you, am keen to try but unsure as to whether it’ll have any other implications. I’ll be interested to know how you get on! Best of luck to you. Do you ovulate regularly? Mines a bit all over the place but before my first I was do regular! Xx

@LilyNH I do ovulate regularly, that's one of the things the Vitex is known for is regulating hormones and cycles which is why I wasn't sure whether to take it, but I'm giving it a go again due to the success last times in getting pregnant. Hopefully they settle down soon for you. I will let you know if I have any success on the Vitex x

Hi, I’m experiencing very irregular periods and all my bloods are normal. Been advised by the GP to take Maca root! Can I just check with one of you ladies do I take throughout the cycle or just the first half? Also off to check out vitex!

Hi @SherlockHolmess I took it right through without a break for a few cycles but have stopped now (on vitex now) . Some people take it until ovulation then stop... maybe you could try it cd1 until ovulation for the first cycle just to see how you get on? x
