Faint line on test

We are trying to conceive. The last few days I am feeling really fatigued and if I don't nap, I get a super headache because I'm so tired.

My urine smells different. I do have a doctor's appointment, which I did before thinking may be I could be pregnant.

So I did a test this morning and I have a blue line albeit a faint one.

I uploaded three images, one I changed to black and white.

The line is blue, which means hgc was dedected right?

My friend says it's positive but after some failures I'm not so convinced.

I am doing some pink line tests tomorrow. First response.

What does everyone else think?

My friend and mum says positive too but I think it's negative.
But I know the blue can't activate unless there's hgc detected.
I had a dream last night that someone gave me fake pregnancy tests, the ones that always show positive.
AHH I'm so anxious to take another one.

Weirdly I think the cheapy ones are the best! I only used a clearblue one which writes 'pregnant' and the weeks. Otherwise I used cheapy pink dye ones. But I would say that's positive! Good luck

I wouldn’t consider this a positive as it looks like a common evap line.

Sorry but looks like an evap to me. I'd wait a few more days and take another cheapie test.

Either evap or faulty. It looks like the line is broken?

It does look like an evap :( the skinny dark lines tend to be evaporation lines x

Can you get a first response early result (FRER) test? They are by far the best at detecting a line early and in my experience if they show even the faintest of lines then it's a positive!!

I spoke to my doctor this afternoon. I have a UTI. But she still can't rule out pregnancy until Monday-Tuesday. She wants me to take another test, as she thinks it's too early. She looked at the clear blue test and said it could be, but she wasn't 100% with it and told me to wait until Monday to take another one. So we will see what happens on Monday. Treatment for UTI depends on whether I am pregnant or not.

@MissAtix How many dpo are you? I think if this was positive a ted dye test should be positive as well. Personally I wouldn’t leave a uti untreated until Monday.

My doctor won't treat the UTI until labs come back and type of treatment depends on whether or not I am pregnsnt. The only symptom I had was a weird sweet smell in my urine.
Ovulation ended on the 12th. So 5dpo tomorrow.
She has told me to test again Monday morning. I think it will be negative, as I suspected from the start.

@MissAtix Oh so you did that test at 3dpo which is impossible to get a positive so that’s definitely an evap. Low chance Monday could be positive as it’s still very early.

Ye she told me to try Monday as I'm likely due on Tuesday. Last month I only had a 21 day cycle, but my period was 10 days including spotting at the start. So it's difficult for her to calculate when my period will be due. Other than slight feeling fatigued I have no pms symptoms coming. Usually I get hormonal acne, lots of cramping and I'm moody. But nothing yet.

The line is thin which usually means evap but you are testing very early too. Maybe your urine has different smell because of UTI.

@MissAtix If you’re due on Tuesday that would make your luteal phase only 8 days which is way too short. Implantation can happen as late as 12dpo and with such a short LP a possible pregnancy doesn’t have time to implant. Definitely have this sorted out.

My ovulation window started on the 7th, ended on the 12th.
Luteal phase is 14 days? That sounds right to me.

@MissAtix It’s called fertile window but actual ovulation happens on only one of those days. How do you confirm ovulation?
luteal phase starts from the day you ovulate and if you ovulated on the 7th that would make it 13 days but if you ovulated on 12th that’s only 8 days.
