Testing with a short luteal phase

Currently 6dpo and unsure when to test. My luteal phase is fairly short and very consistent. Every month i start spotting on 11dpo and my period properly starts on 12dpo. 11dpo feels very early to test - am I likely to get a result at that point given I have a shorter LP? or should I wait until the tww is properly over (in which case I would be 3 days late).

when have other short LP peeps got a BFP?

I have a short LP (typically 10/11 days) and I don't think 11DPO is too early to test (although of course no negative is definitive until your period arrives). A short LP won't affect when implantation should take place, which is typically at 8 or 9 DPO. This site is useful for showing the average chances of a test being positive on any given DPO - by 11DPO about 80% of pregnancies will test positive.

When I conceived my first I tested negative on 10DPO and (faint) positive on 11DPO.

I have a short luteal phase around 10/11 days. I tested on 11dpo (day before AF was due) and got the faintest positive.

Hi OP, I have a short luteal phase (10 days) too. You could do one on day 10 or 11 but at that point you might as well just wait to see if your period comes the next day. In one of my pregnancies I had a faint positive on day 10.

I have a short LP of 10 days (by the way if yours is 11/12 days I don’t think that’s even classed as short)

I tested 10DPO with the faintest line, then 11DPO it was a bit stronger. See below!

i think it really depends on the person- some people won’t test positive until later but some will show at like 9dpo. From my experience, obviously 10dpo was ok but in a previous pregnancy I was much slower to get a line.

I got a positive at an 8dpo with twins. Unfortunately I lost them post birth but that was nothing to do with my lp. My lp was 11 days. It's absolutely possible. 12dpo is not short. 11-16 is considered normal
