Orgasm before egg retrieval? (IVF)

Is there any issue with orgasm (not intercourse) in the window between trigger spray and egg retrieval?

Have read a few conflicting bits of second hand advice online (info passed on from other people’s clinics) but no rationale for abstaining. (Our clinic are have not said much about much so sure there are big gaps in info there…!)

Curious if anyone has received advice or info on this.

I don't know, but in my experience you won't be in the mood!

I’d suggest asking your clinic. More reliable than people on the internet

I guess anything that helps you to relax is probably okay?

Seriously, I can't imagine it would be easy to design and carry out a large scale scientific study on this, so it's unlikely anyone actually knows for sure whether it makes any difference.

Yeah good point. I suppose the best you could look at is self-reports and correlation

I was surprised to see online (forums etc) that some clinics advise against, although I expect it would be based on supposition / the fact it’s not really known so better safe than sorry. Maybe something to do with just not disturbing the ovaries? (hormone release encouraging earlier ovulation or just avoiding them moving in general..?)
