Scared to stop taking the pil

I have been on the pill since I was fourteen because I had super heavy periods at that time.

My boyfriend and I want to start TTC'ing. But after taking the pill for over fifteen years, I have no idea what my own natural period feels like, or how heavy it will be, and that stresses me out.

Is it possible that the old pattern will return and that I'll bleed again like when I was a teen?

Hi, I was very similar to you, was on the pill since year 6 because of heavy and painful periods. My son is now 5 and it wasn’t scary coming off it at all. Give your body a few months to adjust and you may notice some more cramps but just be patient for regular cycles.

I came off after about 20 years middle of 2022. I was on the pill because my periods were excruciating and very heavy! And then went through a phase of continuous light bleeding even between dates.

My periods took about 9/10 months to return but when they did they were easy. 3 days bleeding which was actually fairly light and some cramping the days before. They cycles were not that regular all the time though - which is how I missed that I was pregnant in January this year as also had no symptoms. Now 20+3
