Ovulation after chemical loss

Hi all

I had a chemical pregnancy last month with bleeding starting on 25th April, bleeding ended 5 days later
I am now on CD 12 which is when I usually ovulate but my OPKs have been getting slowly darker but have not peaked (in fact, it looks even lighter today than yesterday)

Is it possible I didn't ovulate this cycle or I just missed it but OPK testing at a certain time? I am so disappointed in my body and I don't know what is normal anymore.

I have all the ovulation symptoms but I have noticed my LH is generally higher than usual this month (started testing on CD 6 and usually at that point it would be a very faint line)

I was about a week late ovulating after my chemical. Don't be disappointed in your body - it did everything right to get pregnant!

Thank you - I had a miscarriage earlier in the year too so I just feel so beaten up by my body :(
Do you think it's normal for LH levels to fluctuate up and down?

It sucks doesn't it. I really feel for you. Yes I think so, mine seemed to vary a lot. Non peak would be between 0.1 and 0.45 normally, and I'd test anything over 0.5 multiple times a day. But it definitely seemed to vary for absolutely no reason I could pinpoint!

I ovulated a few days later than usual after my chemical. I think it's very normal. Sorry you've been through it.

I ovulated a day late after mine!

Peachoolongtea · 08/05/2024 05:45

The cycle after mine I didn’t o and then the next cycle I ovulated on time (normally cd14 every month)

With my other cp I got af about 6 weeks later and the cycle after that I ovulated twice, one at normal time and one a week later

Yes! It’s called hyperovulation and it’s actually pretty common after mc as the body overshoots hormones while trying to get back to normal. If you google twins after mc you can look it up.

hello!

I have also just suffered a (CP). Has affected me way more than I thought it would if i'm honest.

I have heard people ovulate a few days later! or a few days earlier. I think it's different for each person!

I'm currently on CD9 (stopped bleeding about CD6) and my OPKs are darker than I thought they would be (I ovulated CD20 last month). I could be totally wrong and ovulate on time or later!

I find the CB digital ovulation test quite useful because it shows the rise in estrogen before the peak!

I've only used the easy@home OPKs for a cycle (the cycle i got pregnant, and my only cycle of ttc 😂) and my peak showed with FMU so it could be a case of dilution? I know it is advised against but has worked for me!

When you're getting into the swing of ovulation testing I would def recommend testing morning and evening so that you def don't miss your peak. I sometimes spotted it in the morning and sometimes evening, it just varied. But no way was I missing the sodding thing 😂 best of luck ttc, I found the same with my chemical. It's hard.

Yesss closer to the time, I test twice a day (sometimes 3 😂)! I really like the digital clearblue but it’s so expensive but I like that it gives me a range so I deffo can’t miss the best days!

it’s super hard and I feel a bit deflated having to do the process all over again with no guarantee it will work.

I finally got a very dark line on the OPK... after it going from slightly darker than normal on CD6 and then fluctuating up and down.

Although now I am terrified of ovulating twice and having twins! 😂

Haha, I have heard people can sometimes conceive twins after a chemical!
