Pregnant after miscarriage?

Hi everyone ☺️

So long story short, I started miscarrying at 7 weeks on 20th April. By 29th I stopped bleeding and was well in myself, and my partner and I had sex on 1st May. I've had negative pregnancy tests including clear blue ones, so I know they were negative but just out of curiosity (but also, my pee is suddenly VERY dark and yellow and a bit smelly, TMI sorry) so I wanted to check. Lo and behold, there is a VERY faint line.

Could this be a new pregnancy?! Surely not so soon? And it wouldn't be detected on a test this early on, right? I'm thinking it's just left over HCG from the miscarriage but, would that not trigger a clear blue to say positive?

Maybe I'm just hopeful because we're desperate to get pregnant again but... thought I'd see if anyone else had similar stories? Thanks friends xxx

Sorry - forgot to add... I started taking ovulation tests since 2 days ago and they've been negative but, as far as I can make out from charts (though I know after miscarriage your cycle is messed up) I SHOULD have normally ovulated around 29th/1st May... though, again, I know I probably wouldn't have since I had just stopped bleeding (the bleeding was practically non existent on 29th)

very unlikely

HCG levels can be raised for weeks afterwards

up to 6 weeks

Did you have any blood tests done? During my expectant management for my miscarriage I had regular tests done and was eventually confirmed that my hcg levels had gone down to non-pregnancy and therefore any new positive tests would be a new pregnancy. I would say it is unlikely to be a new pregnancy based on timings, it could be that your levels are still levelling out - I think sometimes if there is any retained tissue it might take longer to show up as non-pregnant. I think keep taking tests and speak to your GP/EPU

@Shahhhh unfortunately it's only 5 days since 1st May, even if you ovulated that day and conceived, it's not really possible for implantation to occur in 5 days, and for the HCG hormone to raise high enough.

I'd call either your GP or EPU to have retained product ruled out xx
