LH peak = ovulating?

Sorry newbie question…
I used opk sticks and got a darkish line yesterday morning and very dark lines last night. Does that mean I’m ovulating today? I don’t have ewcm anymore, it’s gone back to lotion texture, and the lines are lighter. But I thought the dark test meant ovulation was going to happen soon? Or does it mean it’s happening right then and now it’s over?

EWCM happens a few days before ovulation. Once you get your darkest second line, ovulation will usually happen within 24 hours. Hope you have chance to get busy with DH today!

Thank you :) did today so hopefully still in with a shot. I’ve read so much conflicting info, like people saying that ovulation actually happens before you get the dark line. So confusing!

Ovulation is triggered by a surge in LH. So it can’t happen before the peak arrives! Good luck for this month! 😊

Ovulation happens after the LH surge which is what the tests pick up. However, it takes a bit of time for sperm to get into position at the top of your fallopian tubes so ideally you want to be having sex on the days leading up to your peak ie the day before ovulation.
