Hi,
Firstly, I’m so so sorry for your loss :(
I unfortunately suffered a miscarriage this month, also around 6 weeks.
I hadn’t prepared for how painful the cramps would actually be, it was honestly like early stages of labour! Combining paracetamol and ibuprofen helped for me, and the pain mostly went after the first day of bleeding.
I bled for around 7 days although I have spoken to a few people since and it seems the bleeding can last anywhere from 5 days to 5 weeks so I really think it differs from person to person. It was weird though not like a period as id expected, it would be heavy one minute and then gone the next to the point I thought it had stopped, then it would start again the following day! On the 7th day I passed a rather big clot, and the bleeding suddenly stopped after that, it didn’t turn to spotting or brown or anything as a normal period might it just suddenly stopped.
There’s not much anyone can say to make you feel better, be kind to yourself and only time can help you heal. It’s been 3 weeks now for me and although it still upsets me to think of, I feel a million times better than I did that first week.
Stay strong xx

Thank you for that nobody i know has been through it and im a bit unsure. I keep feeling overwhelmingly sad and find myself crying i just want to curl up. Luckily my boys are staying at grandparents tonight so i can get my head together.
Yes youre right i never knew how painful the cramps were I imagined it to be like a bad period but this is intense.

Hi, I’ve just been through a MC last week at just after 5 weeks. Taking Paracetamol religiously was helpful for me, and also a heating pad! I have an electric heating belt and it was a truly god send. Then used a regular hot water bottle in the night. The pain was very very intense for the first day only, for around 5 hours I was sobbing. After that it felt more like my average period pains, and slowly reduced in intensity. The bleeding was very heavy on the first day with those intense pains - then became like my regular period on the second day and again gradually reduced. It’s been exactly a week for me now and I’m not in any pain and not bleeding. Everyone’s experiences are different of course, but do try to take it easy with work/chores etc if you’re in the position to - I put myself on complete bed rest on the first two days. Really do suggest pain killers and heating pads! Wishing you the best 🩷
