14dpo… Is this a BFP?

Feeling sceptical after reading other threads on what lines should look like depending on the day you test. My app says I’m 14dpo today based on a peak OPK I entered so I’m sure it’s reasonably accurate? Is this something to get excited about or is this a notorious “evap” line? To me it looks too obvious for it to be an evap but it looks too faint for a really good BFP…. Aghhhh. I purposely haven’t tested until today as I didn’t want to start too early so I have nothing to compare it to.

Congratulations op that's a line

ZippyZappyZoo · 02/05/2024 14:41

Congratulations definite bfp.

Peonies12 · 02/05/2024 14:58

A line is a line! Hope it progresses well

RosiePosie0812 · 02/05/2024 15:07

Thanks all. It’s a weird one. I thought I would “know” when I saw BFP but I’m sat here feeling a bit underwhelmed. I thought I was being good not testing before 14dpo but now I’m wondering if more of a visible progression would have helped. Others that have shown their BFP around this time seem very dark…. As dark as the control line so I’m a bit puzzled. I guess I’ll repeat test over the exit day or 2 and report back! First time TTC so not got loads of experience but it’s scary when you start reading about things like chemical pregnancies etc. Ah well time will tell x

@RosiePosie0812 It really depends when the embryo implants as only then hcg starts rising and implantation can happen as late as 12dpo.

Peonies12 · 02/05/2024 15:36

The line thickness will vary depending on how concentrated your urine is, and when implantation took place as PP said this can be as late as 12 dpo. Unfortunately there's nothing you can do about a chemical pregnancy or miscarriage, just focus on what you can control like make sure you take the recommended vitamins, eat healthily if you can, sleep! i don't think I had a particularly dark line at 14 dpo and I'm 18 weeks now. I did have a MC last year, and the test line wasn't any different at early stage to my current pregnancy, so really don't get too fixated on that.

Hello! This looks similar to mine when I tested day of missed period!
These tests don't come up very strong early on.

I tested negative at 11dpo as well and had cramps so I think that's when it properly implanted.
Do a FRER in a couple of days they come up stronger. X

Ok good to know. Did another cheapie this morning and it was the same as yesterday in terms of line and also tried my luck with a clear blue digital “weeks” but that was negative. It’s so strange because I know that old saying of everyone’s body is different but SO many people on here are getting super duper BFP seemingly before they’ve even missed their period. Like 10/11dpo. I’m here at 14/15dpo and getting faints. Have bought some 6 day early tests from boots and will do those tomorrow to see if there is any difference!

For the sake of updating… still confused. Did some tests again this morning (now supposedly 16dpo) and they are still light! Still there for sure and if I was 10/11dpo I’d be jumping for joy and celebrating but at 16dpo I don’t know whether they look normal. Ughh the wait continues. Still sore boobs, still a fair amount of CM (which is unusual for me as I dry up before AF). Anyone else’s this faint this late on? The only time I DTD this month was the day I got a positive OPK. So I’m counting ov the day after that which would make me 16dpo. Maybe I ov’d quite a bit after my peak? Or maybe this is a chemical?

I think perhaps sadly it’s a chemical pregnancy. Usually the lines get dark pretty quickly at this stage- particularly the pink dye early result tests.

We don't actually know if the op, has taken her daughter to the doctor now because she hasn't come back onto this thread, earlier posts suggested that was her intention.
I'm not surprised she hasn't come back tbh after not receiving the support needed.
Op if you are still reading I suggest if you make another thread like this you use a less antagonistic title and post it in the SEN board where it would have reached people in the same situation who could have really supported you.
Posting in AIBU was the mistake here along with your thread title.

Sorry I've posted this in the right place now.

Just another update for future readers, started bleeding this evening so presume tests will be weaker or negative in the morning. Lines hadn’t darkened from 14dpo to 16dpo so I guess this is classified as a chemical. On to the next month I suppose!

I’m sorry to hear that. I’ve had two chemicals. Up side is that the body recovers quickly even though it’s hard on us. Hope you’re ok xxx
