First time TTC

Hi everyone,
Me and my new husband are trying for our first and I'm looking for support of those in the same position and some friends to go through this with as we are keeping it quiet from our nearest & dearest. I really new to this whole thing and don't want to look up things on the internet as I know how damaging that can be, I have an appointment with pharmacist in a couple of weeks to discuss conception and the medication I'm on. Sorry for the ramble ! If anyone has any advice or want to share there conception story so far please do. 31F

I am also first time TTC, came off the contraceptive pill in November and been trying for a couple of months now. Started monitoring my bbt with natural cycles which is helping me to get know my cycle a bit more after coming off the pill - quite regular 28 days with ovulation at about day 18. 31F too :)

I'm also first time TTC, I came off the contraceptive patch in January and have been trying since, although since coming off the patch my periods are still very light. I started using OPKs this month to try predict ovulation a bit easier as I struggled to know the signs.
I would like to get to know others experiencing this for the first time too, it's a scary unknown journey, I really didn't/don't know what to expect.
I'm also 31F 😊

@TryingToStaySane92 my periods are still so light too! How are you finding OPKs? I have started this month too and currently on CD18 with no peak yet.

I got my peak on CD18, my cycles are 29 days so I wasn't sure if it's a little late but I was honestly relieved to get a peak. I was concerned I wasn't ovulating after the contraception, I'd been on some form since I was 14 due to bad periods.
I also felt really nauseous the same day as the peak and had an uncomfortable side so I think that was ovulation. I was only testing every other day. I've bought a cheaper kit for next month so I can test daily.
Mine didn't get much darker, they just suddenly peaked so don't worry you could peak yet!

@Jennnnnnnnnie thanks that's good to know.. fingers crossed I will get a peak later today or tomorrow. Yes my luteal phase is very short as I ovulated so late and periods are only 28days.. so only about 9 days. Going to start taking vitamin c soon to see if that helps.

Honestly I'd read NHS advice Trying to get pregnant - NHS (www.nhs.uk)
and then stay off the internet including MN! Be prepared it's common to take a year, don't let it rule your life. I'm 32, got pregnant within 4 months last year unfortunately had a miscarriage at 10 weeks, it took 4 months again to get pregnant and I'm now 19 weeks. If you have irregular cycles it can be worth using ovulation tests, but don't fixate too much. I was irregular so tests helped me, I wasn't getting a peak reading until day 18 or 19 sometimes.

I've just received a peak ! CD20 so even later than I thought. If I have a normal 28 day period means my luteal phase is super short !

Don't worry just yet, I've had this before and my period just ended up being a week later than usual rather than short LP. Seemed to be a random one off. You never know!
