Worried about decreasing fertility

I'm am 35, 36 in July have 2 children a DS 18 and a DD 10 from a previous relationship

Me and my partner are talking about having a child but I worry about my age slightly.
Especially as I have been having some changes to my period lately i am currently on the implant but this is my 3rd one and have never experienced this before.
A have a monthly bleed but my cycles are getting shorter and the bleeds longer.
Is this just the implant or could it be my fertility and hormone levels changing.

Have been looking at home early menopause kits to check but I don't know how reliable they are ?

Hoping someone could shed some light of what's going on as would really like another child before it's to late

You won’t really know how fertile you are until you start trying. You could do a blood test for AMH which will give you an idea of how much longer you have until menopause, but it won’t tell you anything about egg quality.

36 is getting on a bit but certainly not over the hill. 40s is when fertility really dips.

I had the implant for 9 years, I also found my monthly bleeds were different each time I got another implant, they would come back quicker each time. I was 37 when I got mine out and it took a good 4 or 5 cycles to get a normal cycle again, I had 54 days without a period when it came out then 22 day cycles for a couple of months.

I did get pregnant cycles 5 and 7, sadly 5 was a chemical pregnancy.

I got it out in May and got pregnant in Feb, if I could do it again I'd have got it out 6 months earlier and used condoms til we were ready, I just believed the 'you're fertile as soon as it comes out' stuff which I'm sure is true but it took me a while to get a regular cycle again

I'm 37 and noticed my cycle is a day or two shorter than it used to be, now 26/27 days.

My youngest is only 5 months so it didn't stop me conceiving and we weren't TTC for long.

Worth getting everything checked so you know where you stand, but at 35/36 on average chances are still very good and early menopause more unlikely than likely.

You could ask your GP for day 3 FSH, LH and Oestrogen blood tests. You can also order these online.
