Is this far too early to test?

I have a fairly regular cycle ranging from 27-34 days, but averages out around every 29 days.

I've had sex twice this cycle.

The first was on cycle day 5. The next day I got loads of ewcm which lasted several days. I had ovulation pains which peaked on CD7.

I don't chart or use opks as I usually have ewcm and ovulation pain around cd 16. I've 3 kids and they were conceived around this time.

So then on cd 16, I had sex again, for the second time this month. I had no ewcm but some twinges in my ovary but none of the other symptoms of ovulation (libido etc).

Today, CD19, I've been having all manner of pulling, stretching, poking and stabbing sensations all around the womb area, one of which radiated down the side of my outer thigh. This happened in my tww with my eldest.

Before I go and blow a tenner on a test, do you think its possible for me to have randomly ovulated on CD 8 and now actually be 11 dpo?

Or can our body's give the appearance of ovulation without it happening? Has this happened to anyone before? Or should I wait another 10 days for my period?

I'm guessing that of CD 8 was ov day, I'd have a bfp by now (always got bfps early) so might as well rule it out?

Honestly wait till your period is due. Otherwise you will be analysing lines. It's hard to wait but the signs sound promising x

A tenner will get you like a hundred internet cheapies from Amazon. The tiny stick show up earlier and you can see progression if you like to watch

I got a test for £4 and its a bfn which is actually fine as I can rule that out, that I if I ovulated on CD8 it didn't work or I didn't ovulate then at all. So I cab just forget about it and put that early ewcm out of my mind

Hi! First time posting!

my partner and I loosely started trying to conceive this month. I was due my period Friday and it’s Sunday with no sign of period and 0 symptoms of pms or pregnancy. Did a cheap accu news test yday which was negative, did one today looked after like a minute was negative, came back an hour or two later when I remembered and it looks positive? Or is this an ‘evap line’ I’m not sure if it’s too early to test as I could have ovulated only 2 weeks ago

Hi Salou and welcome to the forum. This looks good. However, you must read the test after the time it tells you on the instructions. Follow those to the letter. If you left it an hour plus this might well be an evaporation line.
Get another test and use fmu (first morning urine). Then check within the time frame. Best option, as your period is late, is to get a digital test that just tells you pregnant or not pregnant. That way, you aren't worrying about lines. Good luck.

@solou not to get your hopes up, but with one of my pregnancies, it was a total, stark, blank negative but when I came home from work 10 hours later, there was the faintest line that I don't think a normal human eye could have detected (not like the eyes of a woman ttc!!). I did another test and it pinged up positive at once.

Please keep us updated!

Wait until period is due. Get the £1 for 3 test strips and use them first, and the expensive test as a second "confirmatory test".

Jamberrytartlett · 28/04/2024 11:36

I'm going to order the cheap strips off the Internet and start testing in a week wait until my period is due.

Thank you all! I’m going to get a digital test today as I think I could very well be pregnant based off the late period alone!

solou · 28/04/2024 11:49

Also- I’m not sure if this is just a mad, bold statement but do maybe some people have lower levels of hcg during early pregnancy?

I fell pregnant 7ish years ago and took a test when I was a week late and it came out negative… I didn’t find out until I was 10 weeks, I had no symptoms just thought I had a uti and my cheeks got chubbier lol! Unfortunately that pregnancy ended shortly after :(

but could this be possible for some people and their hcg levels?

Catopia is probably referring to my OP. I don't thinkn you noticed, but you posted on my thread asking if I should test now or wait for my period :-)
