Anyone trying home insemination?

As the title suggests, I’m trying at home insemination for various reasons. Is anyone else in the same boat or has done this before? Thanks

Yep me! My partner has issues finishing from sex so we wanted to do insemination to take the stress out of it.

I conceived my 2nd doing this method, 1st was via IVF so was a shock it actually worked!

We didn't use anything fancy, Calpol syringe and a yoghurt pot!

But it 100% took the pressure off! We both felt so much better tbh.

We are. First time seriously tracking and ordered the Twoplus applicator extra kit for 3 cycles. Hoping it happens soon. Issues with OH sperm morphology. We have been trying for 3 years. Both have child before from previous relationship. Just not happening naturally for us now. No issues on my side. Hoping this will help

Yes! Currently 12 weeks pregnant from our first attempt with the TwoPlus applicators.
Tried it to take the pressure off after reoccurring miscarriage had begun to take the joy out of DTD …. worked for us ☺️

We’re exactly the same! Good luck on your journey x

The pressure is what’s getting to us so it’s great to hear a successful conception from this! Congratulations 🥳 x

I’ve not heard of the Twoplus so I’ll have to check it out. We got our kit from Amazon and hoping it has good results. Wishing you all the best of luck! 🤞 xx

Firstly I’m so sorry to hear about the MC situation. I had a MMC and you’re right, it just makes DTD feel like a risk every time (or at least it did for me!) and I’m scared of putting myself through it mentally again but also, I want a child so here we are!

Secondly, huge congratulations on your pregnancy! You’re the second person to mention TwoPlus. I’m assuming they’ve got good reviews? X

All 3 of my pregnancies (1 mc) have been conceived using insemination. DH doesn't finish often so we had to be more direct.

1st cycle for 1st pregnancy, 2nd cycle for the MC pregnancy and 3rd for current pregnancy (you couldn't make it up!)

We did every other day for 10 days during fertile period. Lie in bed with legs up on the wall for 30 minutes after.

Bought some 10ml syringes and sterile pots from Amazon.

moosey89 · 24/04/2024 07:43

@Tattooedteacher0621 thanks! Just had my second BFP using TwoPlus - sadly first ended in MMC but I'm cautiously optimistic this time round!

CadoAvo · 24/04/2024 11:00

Yep! Due to be being a same sex couple and using a known donor.

We had success on our second cycle however that ended in miscarriage at 7 weeks. Currently in the TWW on cycle 1 post mc.

We used a "lube launcher" from Amazon which is a long plastic syringe with a rounded top. Found this much more comfortable than a tiny pointed syringe plus it's long so goes all the way in.

Sgj91 · 24/04/2024 11:58

@Tattooedteacher0621 Sorry you’ve suffered a MMC, I know how unfair it feels. But stay positive and don’t put pressure on yourself 💕
TwoPlus is quite expensive and they say it’s not reusable but we planned to sterilise and use again if we needed them for a 2nd month.
Best of luck xxx

Hi ladies, just wondered has anyone used two plus fertility home insemination kits? Me and my partner are trying it to try and relieve the stress of ttc, we’re trying for the first time this month around my fertile window .

insemination in is painless and is easy enough to do, we used the extra soft tip and left it in for an hour afterwards, but after removing it I had some semen leakage - is this normal or am I doing something wrong , worried this won’t help us be successful.

we are very inexperienced at this!!
thankyou

Hw82 · 12/11/2024 19:44

@moosey89 just wandered have you any advice on my previous post I tried to tag you in on but posted it before I could , then tried to edit it but couldn’t find the option lol.

would be very grateful.

moosey89 · 14/11/2024 08:45

@Hw82 hey - yep I actually used them until last month....in the last year and a half they have raised the price about 100% and I'm disappointed at their profiteering and can't really afford them anymore.

So we are now using cheap specimen pots and lube syringes from Amazon! First month but I'll let you know how it goes 🤣

Leakage is totally normal so don't worry about that bit x

Hw82 · 14/11/2024 12:40

@moosey89 hey , yeah I noticed they have raised the price so I don’t think we’ll be using them much longer, we bought a bundle pack so just gonna use them up and then go to a cheaper alternative. I’ll be checking out Amazon 🤣 & yeah please do would appreciate that!

we’ve had fertility treatments over 2 yearsbut they haven’t worked 💔 and our funds are nearly depleted- so back to trying ourselves. We’re really hoping these syringes work 🙏🙏 I’m such a worrier so wen I got leakage I was afraid we were wasting our time but thankyou for the reassurance.

Hope all goes well for you too, sending lots of baby dust ♥️

Sunshineclouds11 · 14/11/2024 14:10

@Hw82 leakage is fine, it happens when having sex also.

We used to insem on a night time when going to bed so I didn't have to get up and still woke with leakage.

Worked for us.

Hw82 · 14/11/2024 17:50

@Sunshineclouds11 hey, thankyou for your reply.

This makes me feel better and reassured. Congratulations on your pregnancy x
