Open wet cervix?

Hey everybody, I am clutching at every little sign now.

I am under the belief that I don't ovulate anymore. However yesterday I had quite a lot of shooting type pain on my right side (kind of fallopian tube area) and some uterus achey feeling which I still have today. When I wiped after the toilet yesterday there was a bit of clear stringy CM and a small amount of EWCM but that was just the once all day. Now today my cervix feels open and it is definitely wet. My BBT is not showing any suggestion of ovulation atm so what do you ladies think is happening? Do you think I may be gearing up to ovulate or is it a peri symptom?

Long story short as possible..

*Not prevented for just over 4 years and never once had a faint.
*Cycles are now sporadic as I am 43 - however this is the only sign of peri-meno and probably averaging a bleed every 3 months ish.
*Been to the GP, had a referral to the fertility clinic who discharged us after 2 appointments as the blood tests and scans showed no known reason for no conception and sent me away with the advice of take Vit D and Folic Acid.
My husbands SA was fine.

We have now contacted a private fertility clinic but can only really afford to pay for the initial tests but am hoping they will test AMH and give a better insight than the nhs did.

Its so hard being married into a pakistani family who are always asking when we will have children :(

I would say ovulating soon.

I can tell I am about to ovulate from feeling wet and lots of EWCM. Sounds like that with your description. I actually used that as an indication for TTC and one month we just succeeded.

Have you tried ovulation test strips to track what's going on? The clearblue advanced ones will flash for rising oestrogen ahead of your LH surge. When the latter happens, a static smiling face appears. Without that as a guide it's difficult to say what is or isn't happening.

Edited

The only thing is with the ovulation strips because I think I am in peri-meno they continuously show a high LH reading anyway - not peak but there is always a dark line.

Not really sure the clear blue flashing ones would be beneficial due to the high readings anyway and if they might give off false readings. I might look back into these.

Thank you!

Did the blood tests you've already had confirm that you were peri monopausal? Did the fertility clinic measure your progesterone around day 21 to confirm ovulation? Your only other option may be a scan mid cycle to see what's going on with your follicles.

No I have never had peri confirmed, I'm just presuming as my cycles are now every 3-ish months and they did start to become extremely heavy with huge clots a couple of years ago to now being quite light when I do have a bleed. The GP won't measure progesterone around day 21 due to my cycles being so far apart there is no way of telling when I might try to ovulate or when I will have a cycle. Hoping to hear from the private fertility clinic in the next week x

Have you read 'it starts with an egg'? I found it really insightful trying to conceive in my late 30s. I started measuring my temperature daily and changed a few things in my diet based on the information and really felt it helped

I have that book yes, currently taking folic acid, vitamin D and Co-q10 and have bought myself a Tempdrop wearable arm thermometer (vaginal and oral temping wasn't consistent as I don't always get a steady 4hrs sleep). Hoping to see some kind of rise on my chart.. fingers and toes crossed.
