Ovulation tests question (with pic)

Hi all,

I feel like I've read a lot on here about ovulation tests needing to be done with wee later in the day. I've done this test this morning and I think it's a pretty good line but it's FMU. Wondering if people think it's accurate? Annoyingly we didn't DTD yesterday but did on Thursday and will today and tomorrow.

You need to do them at the same time every day. I think they say 5pm is optimum. Do you use a tracker app? I used the premom app as that will tell you when your lines are getting darker with a score. You can also build history to look back on.

When your score increases (I used that in conjunction with EWCM production, and knowing broadly when I ovulate), you should then test a few times in that day to catch your 'peak'. You should never use FMU as it's unreliable and will always show high (as it's so undiluted).

Good luck!

Thanks for the response, that's really helpful!
So I use glow and at the moment I'm loosely tracking stuff (mainly just my period) and I know roughly when I ovulate so am just doing the strips around that time but I'm not going to be strictly uploading things into the app for now as we suffered a miscarriage earlier this year and I am trying to put less pressure on myself. This is only our first proper month of trying since it happened so may do that in a few months time. I really appreciate your response and I'll test again this evening

I've done another one and the line is very strong so I think it's correct! Phew!

Yep that is definitely a positive opk. You're at your peak 😊

I'd say that's positive, you need to test twice a day and when you see it getting darker test up to 4 times per day, otherwise you'll miss your peak.

Thanks both!

Tbh I don't know what testing more times in a day will achieve as it won't increase how much we DTD! We're basically aiming for every other day and then every day during that peak so will continue with once a day until it fades I think :)

It's so you don't miss the peak. You could have a postive opk in the middle of the day, but test in the morning it's negative and test in the evening it's negative.
