egg donation

I'm not sure this is the best place to post this topic but I'll give it a try.
I'm considering making an egg donation. In fact I've already contacted the hospital and I'm waiting for them to give me a date for the appt with the specialist. I understand this is a heavy procedure involving a lot of tests, injections, scans, etc. I'm looking for feedback fron other women who've gone through this to have a better idea of what's ahead of me.

I've not been a donor but I have received donated eggs and I think what you are considering to do is just wonderful. And yes, it is more procedures for the person donating than the person receiving the donated eggs.

I'm seeing the specialist on Thurs so I should have all the info then. I'm happy they're considering my application since I'm on the limit age wise. But they're in big need of donors so might be a bit more lenient in that respect.

Not sure if you are still following this thread. But do go to fertilityfriends, where there is a donors thread, for both donors and recipients.
I've recently been a donor for my sister (successfully), and wrote a diary there (under name of cluckcluck - in case you want to read it) with all info re all the tests etc that you need. I found it all very easy and straightforward (completely painless), and had only one day of 'side-effects' (weird emotions). I would do it again without a shadow of a doubt... except that I'm probably too old now!
