Hi, Just wondering if there’s anyone here whos in the same boat or has successfully conceived with Pcos that could share what they did. My periods are super irregular so I’m trying to regulate them naturally right now with inositol & diet changes however I’ve spoken with a consultant and may be moving onto fertility meds to induce ovulation. Just wondering if anyone has any experience with Clomid/ Metformin/ Letrozole For helping conceive with PCOS? Or anything else that helped?
We’ve only been “trying” for around 9 months but have been unprotected for around 1.5 years.
thanks :)

Hey! Yes I have PCOS and have a 2 year old now!

my periods took a year to return after coming off the pill, and were improved with metformin. We tried for 6 months and then I got pregnant, but miscarried at 9 weeks.

I did a lot of research and added the below in:

  • low dose aspirin 150mg (took it whilst trying and right through pregnancy, only stopped the day before my c section) it increases blood flow to the womb and baby and also helps with implantation. I think partly the reason I miscarried was due to poor blood flow - I had an early scan and the baby had a heartbeat but was measuring small, I miscarried a week later.
  • metformin (took it right through TTC and pregnancy and still do now)
  • progesterone once I got pregnant to help maintain the pregnancy
  • Methyl-folate instead of folic acid - this is the natural form of folic acid and easier to absorb can folic acid which is synthetic.

i definitely think that metformin and myo inositol helped me ovulate, and the aspirin in particular helped implantation and maintaining a healthy pregnancy.

after starting low dose aspirin I got pregnant the following month, and had a very straightforward pregnancy and birth.

good luck!

Hi OP! Yes I have PCOS. I have a 2. 5 year old and a baby on the way.

I took 4000mg myo-inositol a day (two tablets in the morning and two in the evening). I used the MyOva brand. You can find it on Amazon. it also contains folate and chromium.

I really believe this is the reason I managed to conceive. My periods were bang on 30-31 days every single month. With my first I had lost a lot of weight and I was really fit and we conceived in the first cycle of trying! With my second I’m the biggest I’ve ever been but conceived whilst taking myo-inositol after 10-11 cycles.

Being as active as possible and reducing processed sugars also helps a lot. Are you taking any supplements at the moment?

@Chocchip09 torally agree regarding the myo inositol! My cycles were like clockwork 30 days bang on, and I ovulated every time. Before the myo inositol I don’t think I was always ovulating
