Should I take cyclogest?

Hi all, new here.

Me and my partner have been TTC for 2 years.

Has loads of tests but found nothing wrong.

The fertility doctor and my local NHS hospital prescribed me cyclogest as I had slightly short luteal phases.

I tried it for 2 months but spotted a lot whilst taking it and it didn't increases my luteal phase.

Yesterday, being a couple of days late, I thought I'd do a test on the off chance. Wow! Positive! Very unexpected.

I have had some light brown spotting for 5 days now, and I have 15days worth of cyclogest left. Do you think I should take it? I've emailed the fertility doctor but as its the weekend I'm guessing I won't hear anything until at least Monday.

Any help is much appreciated.

I would. It’s widely used for early pregnancy support rather than for what you’ve been using it for, is considered very safe, and you already it….

Whats your concern?

Hu Cultoftheairfryer (definitely with you on that one)

I haven't taken the cyclogest at all this month so was just concerned that taking it now might be an issue. Just being an overly anxious ninny I guess.

Wont be an issue, take it. I found it easier to use it rectally. Less mess and no chance of irritating my cervix.

I also used it rectally, it actually absorbs into your body better there with less escapage! I took it until 16 weeks.

it’s commonly prescribed for bleeding in early pregnancy to prevent miscarriage so I think it would be good for you to keep taking it. Congratulations 🥳

Yes take it. Agree with other posters to take it rectally. Congratulations @Leighclark28
