Can’t work out when I’m ovulating

Hi, I’m just wondering if anyone’s able to offer any advice, I’ve got 2 children already ages 5 and 6 and currently trying to conceive our 3rd. I’ve been using ovulation tests for 1st time and logging them on Premom app, however I can’t work out when I ovulate as in my last cycle it just said low for every test. Worried I’m not ovulating :(

Looks like you didn't test for a couple of days bang in the middle of your cycle. I think you probably peaked either day 17 or very early day 18 and missed it on the test and just caught the LH levels coming down again. So day 18/19 is likely to be the day of ovulation.

Looks like it was around day 18.

My peak reading was classed as low but I got pregnant that month so it definitely happened!
Different women have different hormone levels so don’t worry if Premom says it’s low, as long as you can see an increase yourself on the graph.

Hi OP, none of the tests in your photo look like positive tests. For an OPK to be positive the test line must be darker than the control line.

If you want to make best use of that app, make sure you consistently use the same type of test and log it under the correct label so e.g. easy@home tests, logged under easy@home because otherwise the app can’t accurately read the result because it doesn’t know what it is looking at.

My advice would be to try and test consistently at the same time each day, and once you see the line getting darker start testing twice a day to try and catch the peak. Looking at your tests its quite possible that you have just missed it because for example between cd13 and cd14 there are 32 hours- you could easily have missed your peak there, and then you miss 3 whole days between cd15 and cd18 so you have no idea what happened there.

Hi thank yous so much for replying,it’s got me so confused it’s all new to me as I didn’t track ovulation with my previous pregnancies. I did test on the days I forgot to log too, but on those days the test line was still considerably lighter than the control line.

Look for ewcm! Much better. Last day you make it.

menopausalmare · 10/04/2024 20:08

It's all about the discharge! Stretchy egg white mucus means you're ovulating as cervical mucus thins and becomes less acidic to let sperm through. Start having sex a couple of days before that.

I did notice lots of ewcm however on those days my tests were still low. Very confusing, but thank you so much for everyone’s advice :)

I found ewcm really misleading - it was too influenced by how much water I'd drunk. But I know others find it bang on!

I never got a 'peak' reading on that app but I've got pregnant twice - just start having sex when the tests start getting darker. Your CD18 test looks like it was your peak, but hard to say without seeing previous days.

Hi ladies, this is my latest test this morning it’s the first ‘high’ I’ve ever had using this app even though it’s only 56, would yous say things are progressing normally?

Yep, all looks good. Test at least twice a day (I did three times a day for my first cycle) to ensure you don't miss your peak. Also don't panic if the app recalculates and decides that that isn't actually high if you get higher readings later on!
