Clearblue faint positive?

Hey - 12DPO, I'm abroad and they only sell pregnancy tests over the counter and you get what you are given so it's a clearblue rapid response test, I checked if after 2 minutes and there is the faintest line, it's the full thickness of the test line and I can clearly see it with my eyes but it doesn't really show on a picture so iv messed around with settings to try and show it, if it came up within 2 mins it can't be an evap line right?
It's an evening test because I was impatient and didn't get two in the box so can't even do one first thing in the morning dam it!

Also would this type of test show a darker line at 12 DPO normally?

Looks positive if it came up in the time and has colour in real life. Congratulations!

JM1997 · 09/04/2024 21:51

@Hettycan I have just had a quick look at this, and I can see the positive line straight away! Congratulations ❤️

Hettycan · 09/04/2024 22:40

Thank you both! Really hope it is x

Looks positive! Can you take another this morning?

Hettycan · 10/04/2024 08:13

I have saved my FMU and will pick another one up today for sure! The one I did last night has overnight developed a very obvious evap line - like a thin blue off centre line but underneath I can still see the very faint line I got within a couple of minutes so fingers crossed!

I managed to get a pink dye test this morning, I saved FMU (in the fridge - does that matter?) and this is the result it's another extremely faint positive and it says it's an early detection test, but I'm 13dpo and due on on Friday, so I'm thinking it should be darker? Does anyone have any advice on whether it's normal to have such a faint line at 13dpo? Other times I think I had much more obvious lines at this point.

Also yes I know I should just wait for AF and then if it's late do a test but I'm silly and apparently like to torture myself with inconclusive tests!

Originally and then edited to see the line more photos attached

I'd expect 13DPO to be slightly darker, but pregnancy still very much possible.

Hettycan · 10/04/2024 11:16

I know I think you are right it should be darker. I also feel like AF is coming. I only have to wait 2 days I don't know why I find it so hard

I’ve felt like af was about to start at the beginning of all my pregnancies

ToeBeans24 · 10/04/2024 11:19

Looks positive to me @Hettycan maybe you just implanted late so HCG is still on the rise. If you can (know it’s so hard) wait another 48 hours x

Littlepicklepie · 10/04/2024 11:24

Yes, temperature makes a difference so that could be why it's not as strong.

Littlepicklepie · 10/04/2024 11:24

Really hope this one sticks for you! X

TheShellBeach · 10/04/2024 11:26

That line looks fine to me!

Olika · 10/04/2024 11:32

There are lines in both tests so I would be optimistic. 🤞🏼 Just wait and see if your AF starts.

Hettycan · 10/04/2024 11:55

Thank you all for replying - really hoping. This is my third month of getting a positive since July last year, last two ended in MC. They have reassured me 3 consecutive MCs are extremely unlikely so I'm hoping so much this one sticks!

Just to update...
I am now 14dpo - AF due tomorrow.
I took another test last night and one this morning, both faint positive but slightly darker (pic attached of all 3). But iv started spotting light pink, so far just when I wipe. I don't think it's start of AF as usually I'm quite heavy from the beginning.

I'm mostly thinking it's a chemical because the lines are so faint for 14dpo, and obviously spotting this late is unlikely to be implantation. I just really really don't want it to be a chemical - feel like I am playing pregnancy bingo, here are my numbers - child born with forceps brain injury, c-section, vaginal birth, third degree tear, MMC, ectopic, MC, and now looks like I'll be adding CP to the list. Anyone got a longer list? 🫣😆

Anyway not testing anymore will just wait for AF (and hope and pray it doesn't come)

I will update though

Oh OP that's so tough, and you've had a terrible run so far (although a high score on the bingo!). It does sound like it might be a chemical, that's how mine started. Much slower to get going than a normal period but then pretty much identical. Tests stayed steady for about five days and after a week I tested negative. Hugs.

Hettycan · 11/04/2024 08:31

@Littlepicklepie thank you, that's actually really helpful to know that with a chemical it's normal for AF to start very slow because that's the only thing that's making me think maybe it's not actually AF as it's not normal for me to start like this, but I'd rather just know now and accept it's a chemical than have that false hope for a few days just to crash back down. So bloody shit this!

OP posts:
TheShellBeach · 11/04/2024 09:45

This might be implantation bleeding, not a chemical pregnancy.

You're unfortunately not going to know for another few days though. I'll keep everything crossed for your, OP.

Olika · 11/04/2024 09:58

There are definitely lines but they are weak. But it's all possible until/if your periods arrive. 🙂🤞🏼

Hettycan · 11/04/2024 17:16

For anyone who comes across this in a similar situation, I just want to update, it wasn't spotting this morning it was just the start of my period 😔 a day early! Tests are still positive so it was a chemical.

Thank you for updating @Hettycan and I'm sorry this has been the outcome for you.

Olika · 11/04/2024 17:47

Sorry to hear this

Littlepicklepie · 11/04/2024 18:12

@Hettycan oh I feel for you. Thank you for updating.
