Antidepressants and TTC

I'm TTC but will be speaking to the GP today to ask for antidepressants as my anxiety is pretty bad (work related). Does anyone know whether they're safe to take during TTC? Does anyone have any experiences TTC on them?

I have been TTC for 5 months and felt my anxiety was taking over. I started sertraline one month ago, feel miles better, and have just had my BFP 🥰. My GP had no hesitation prescribing me sertraline which I'd taken a couple of times previously. Stress and anxiety can wreak havoc on your body!

I conceived my first month on sertraline. It ended in an MC, but that wasn't related to the SSRI.

If you need them, go for it.

@Pickles333 congratulations! That's really good to know. I'll have a chat and hopefully the same situation 🤞🏻

ttc is anxiety provoking enough. You'll definitely be better equipped to get through the ups and downs if your mental health is being taken care of. Tell your GP you're ttc to make sure they prescribe you something safe. I'm ttc on sertraline and it makes life so so much easier!

It depends on the type. None of mine were suitable for pregnancy or breastfeeding. Sertraline seems to be the go to. They all seem to recommend it, but it doesn’t work for me.
