Bleeding straight after ovulation

Hi everyone. Appreciate some advice. I’m 40 and TTC my second. We’ve had a number of bumps in the road with TFMR and a miscarriage after IVF. This cycle, I have had spotting since the day after ovulation, and is still continuing today three days on. I’ve booked a doctor’s appointment. Previously I have spotted from day 24 onwards which I’ve been told might be due to a progesterone imbalance. I’ve never had it from ovulation though and I’m worried about it. Too early for implantation bleeding I assume. Anyone had this? Thanks

I have had ovulation spotting the last three cycles. Everything I've read about it on the internet says not to worry about it. We had a thread last month where there was a few of us who were worried about it, and one of the ladies who bled for quite a few days following ovulation did successfully conceive. If it is due to ovulation it should stop fairly soon.

Thank you @YorkshirePeridot thats reassuring. Did the lady conceive in the same cycle as the bleeding? I’m interested to know the timing of the bleeding- ie if it happens during or after ovulation to see if everything is tying up with the OPKs. I had a positive OPK on Wednesday and was spotting by Friday. Seems to be almost gone today. Odd that’s it’s the first month it has ever happened to me!

@Harrjenk yes it was the same cycle! I've had some spotting this month at 3dpo, I'd say somewhere between 2-4dpo is normal for ovulation spotting. It's due to oestrogen levels dropping before progesterone kicks in so you may have just had a larger oestrogen surge this month for some reason. 🤷‍♀️

@YorkshirePeridot do you reckon once the bleeding starts it’s too late to still be fertile? I’m now a bit worried that we stopped DTD too early!

interesting about the oestrogen- I’ve been thinking that I might be low on progesterone so I’ll see if I bleed again towards the end of my cycle
