Different results from same pee! Please help!

Hi all, I am 5dpt from doing ivf abroad, I really wanted to wait till at least day 7/8 but I broke and bought a clear blue 6 day early digital test as well as some really cheap hcg test strips. I bought them this afternoon on a whim so tested around 3pm. For the strip I had to pee in a cup, but I kept some pee left in me so then did the clear blue directly (not dipping in the cup). The test strip was negative which I thought it would be..but the clear blue suddenly said Pregnant!!! So this obviously had us jumping for joy. So to be absolutely sure I got the other clear blue test out and tested it using the pee in the cup, but this came out negative!!!

How can this be that the same brand test from essentially the same pee give two different results? Which one do you think is right? I’m obviously going to do a new test in the morning but I’m so confused right now!! Any one have any ideas?

Are the tests different sensitivities? If the digital said pregnant then 99.99999% you're pregnant.

No, they are not exactly the same brand etc. so only difference between them was the first was fresh pee and the second one that was negative was dipped in the cup that had been sat there for 10 mins x

I'm confused... one was digital the other was a strip test? So they are two different tests? If so then they are probably different sensitivities. I know there's a clear blue early one which is probably 10miul then strip tests if clear blue are probably 25 miul or above which is why you have the different results.

As pp said above digital tests are very reliable.

If they were digital and one said pregnant then I’m guessing you’re pregnant and it’s just very early on and on the cusp for getting high enough HCG for a “pregnant” so one caught the levels and one didn’t maybe. Maybe peering directly on the stick helped.

it’s rare to get an obvious positive result (which on a digital you can’t argue with) and it be a false result. It’s more common for a false negative if testing too early.

Peeing not peering 😂

@Confusedddddddd i think OP meant she took a strip test first (dipped in a cup) but it was negative then she took a digital which she took using midstream pee which said positive. So she then took the second digital in the pack but dipped in the cup of pee and it said negative. So the 2 dipped tests were negative but midstream was positive but both digitals were same brand,

You say 5dpt but not what sort of transfer it was. There is a possibility that it's the falling HcG from the trigger at 5dpt if you had a fresh transfer although mine had gone at 3dpt personally and I did get my first positive at 5dpt although I didn't use a digital. I'd be cautiously optimistic though as the digitals are very sensitive usually. I was testing negative on various other brands but positive on clear blue digital- turns out I was having a chemical and so my HCG was staying low so it was hard to detect. At 5dpt I'd be cautiously optimistic! Congratulations!

No, sorry- I did 3 tests. 1 was the strip which I’m not questioning but the other two were clear blue digitals from the same pack!
