AF arrived today and feeling extremely low - I know i’ll wake up in the morning and feel OK but right now I feel rubbish :(
I knew I was out this month as had all AF symptoms the last few days but doesn’t make it any easier when it actually arrives!
Have been having fertility massages the last few months, will be trying accupunture this month!
Also tried Mucinex this month and pre-seed so was feeling positive, but will use both again this cycle!

Just looking for others also on this journey just so I don’t feel so alone!

Hi @SWeal im sorry to hear the witch arrived, I know how deflating it can be. I know you probably are, but are you using ovulation tests to track your ovulation? Xx

SWeal · 06/04/2024 22:06

Hiya! Thank you for replying. Yes, usually use the purple clearblue, my cycle is pretty regular and I ovulate day 13/14. I didn’t do them this cycle to see if it would help take the pressure off…
Considering using them again this cycle but unsure xx

Have sex at least every other day from as soon as your period ends...

Have you had a transvaginal scan to check structural etc ?

Are u over 35 ?

SWeal · 07/04/2024 08:23

@worldwidetravel2017 We’ve been DTD every day during my fertile window so I think we’ll try every other day this cycle.

I’m 33, and sorry, probably should have said in OP but didn’t want to write an essay - I have had 2 babies already so I know there are no issues getting pregnant. My first son passed away at 3 days old and my second baby boy was 1 last month. I fell quickly and easily with both, I think that’s why I’m struggling so much with it being 6 months with no BFP

Sorry to hear of your loss

You may of developed pcos or such

I had 2 x transvaginal scans

7 ish month's apart - 1 showed polycystic ovaries - one didnt.

How recent were your last 2 births ?

I recommend it starts with an egg - book

Id get your vit d , feretin and b12 checked

I corrected vit d deficiency

Feretin deficiency
And b12 deficiency b4 we tried etc

SWeal · 07/04/2024 10:43

@worldwidetravel2017 Thank you.

Does that mean within 7 months you had developed PCOS? Can you have PCOS and have no symptoms? (Other than struggling to conceive)

DS1 was born March 2022 and DS2 was born March 2023.

I’ve been taking Vit D, folic plus many other vitamins. Will speak to my GP to see if they’ll help with any testing but I doubt it at the moment as it’s not been over a year. I’m trying acupuncture this month and will try the sperm meets egg method!

Well - for pcos diagnosis you need to meet 2 criteria from a list

For years ive had hairy chin
But my mum - nana & great nana also had that

Could be hereditary.
Could be pcos

Then - my cycles used to be 28 days clock work 4 years..

Had covid jan 2021

Had ebv summer 2022

Low feretin may 2023

Colon polyps march 2023

Emergency colonoscopy marchh 2023

Another 2 colonoscopies since

My CRP ( inflammation) in body has been up

Pcos = can be inflammatory.. 4 some people - theres different types of pcos
.
Apart from when mega stressed due to cancer scares and when grieving 4 a close relative - - now my cycles are mainly 30 - 34 ish days
But definitely not as regular as they were b4

Then on latest t.v scan - ovaries = polycystic in appearance

Thats enough 4 pcos diagnosis

Im starting metformin in a bit -, from gynaecologist / gynae consultant. But many on it have way more eratic periods than me.

Some people struggle to concieve with inflammation ( i keep having colon polyps removed and i have a fibroid and a liver condition and gallstones )

You are well within your rights to ask for

  • a full blood count. ( get one every 12 months min )
  • feretin test
  • crp blood test - good inflammation marker
  • vit d blood test - many Brits are deficient ^^ i got mine from 33 to 77 to nearer 100
  • b12 blood test - dya havr regular potato and 3 eggs a week ?
Etc

Fertility foods - carrot - eggs - iron rich cereal
Etc

If you might have pcos - low gi foods are good
And reduced sugar .

In July last year my ovaries didnt look polycystic

My mum had 2 children and at times had polycystic ovaries and @ times didnt..
It can be reversed / go away etc.

Also - if youve never had a poop test // Q fit test - my colon polyps were only discovered by doing that nhs test .

For 30 gbp randox health offer some female fertility testing
I highly recommend.
They test progesterone which HH dont.

I very much recommend - additionally - hertility health..
Used them twice.
150 gbp very well spent

They test amh
If its high - likely pcos.
They test about 9 other things too
Many hormones
Very indepth
And all their results have fitted with what NHS have found

@worldwidetravel2017 Wow, sounds like you’ve had a tough few years!! Thank you for all of that info, it’s very helpful - especially about tests to ask from doctors, i’ve always had the impression they won’t entertain you unless you’ve been trying for a year and tbh - I know that 2 healthy people can take up to a year to conceive anyway so i’ve not really been panicking (yet) about something being wrong. Just getting tired if AF arriving each month. Having said that, I’ll definitely ask GP for the years you’ve mentioned.

I eat a healthy diet, lots of eggs, potato, fruit, veg etc and drink 2L+ a day.

I think before I pay for any testing i’ll give it a few more months. Hoping the acupuncture may help relax me if anything!

Are you still on your TTC journey?

Sending all the luck

I have a high colon cancer risk 4 life
And extra screening

We couldnt try 4 a while as had a liver scare last year - they found a mass - urgent mri etc etc
Had liver fibro scan

Its not liver cancer..

I put on 2 stone after glandular fever and diagnosis of chronic fatigue syndrome.
Also have IBS

Ive lost some now
But pcos does make it harder to lose weight.
As does cfs

Then couldn't try 4 few months as colon des said wait 4 next colonoscopy.

We had a relaxing hol in the sun
And tried this cycle

If i get a period - will start metformin - which helps many with pcos concieve

When we did concieve last year - it was 2nd cycle trying -
I believe correcting 3 deficiencies played a role
But then early miscarriage
But im over 35 - so theres that risk

Anyway - we live in hope :)
